Caught up in a proper SCAM where they push you to give out your card details and PIN, claiming they need to block a dodgy transaction. What’s quite creepy is how this lot seem to know I’m with Halifax and that I've been using my card lately for annual subscription payments. Definitely makes you feel uneasy.

Got a call from someone saying they were from Halifax Fraud team, but I didn't pick up 'cause I assumed it was a scam. Then I rang the number on my debit card just to be sure, and they told me it really was Halifax warning about some dodgy transaction on my account. Suspect scam call pretending to be from Halifax bank. I did not answer but was left a voice message stating that a credit card payment had been declined and to press any button to connect to discuss details. The recorded voice was female. A name was given for the intended message recipient; it was not my name and referred to the wrong gender. Another attempted call and message were made one hour later. Consequently, I added the number to my blocked caller list. There are reports that this is a genuine Halifax number being hijacked by scammers. I do not have a Halifax credit card.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Halifax, but it looked dodgy to me. This call was actually from The Halifax. I called the number back and asked how they could prove it wasn’t a scam. They told me to phone the number on the back of my debit card, which I did. Turns out, I already had that number saved in my phone from before. They said there was a dodgy charge of £34 that I hadn’t made, so they cancelled it and confirmed several other transactions I did recognise. My card’s been cancelled now and a replacement is due on Tuesday. Don’t just ignore these calls, make sure you call the number on your card to check.

At first, I suspected it was a scam, but it’s actually a legit Halifax number. I got a call on my landline today, 16/03/24, then spotted a text on my phone. So, I rang Halifax on the regular number I use for phone banking (I don’t do online banking). I got through to the fraud team who told me that several small transactions had been made totalling over £80. They’re refunding the money, cancelled my card, and said a new one will arrive in 3-5 days. DON’T just brush this off like I almost did!

They keep saying banks dont send texts, so I'm just gonna ignore any until the bank opens and sorts it out. Still, its pretty worrying for everyone coz how can we be sure if it's legit or not??

I lost my bank card and got a couple of texts from Halifax asking if it was me. When I looked online, I saw it had been used about 5 times by someone else. This number sent me an automated voicemail so I rang their fraud team. Everything’s sorted now and they confirmed the number is indeed from Halifax’s Fraud dept.

Got an email saying it was from Halifax about a dodgy transaction being declined and asking if it was me. I replied 'no' and then my phone rang straight away. Felt fishy so I didn’t pick up. Pretty sure it’s just a scam!

This has to be a SCAM. I rang my bank straight away and told them about it. They said it had nothing to do with their side.

It was actually Halifax Fraud Prevention. I got a text about an Uber charge on my account (I've never even used Uber), so I replied saying it wasn’t me. They called back right away to cancel my cards and begin the refund process. Right after, I rang the fraud number listed on Halifax’s website and they confirmed my cards were cancelled. They told me if I ever feel unsure, just hang up and call them directly.
