Got a message from this number and after ringing the customer service number on my bank card, I confirmed it was actually the Lloyds Bank fraud department. They informed me about several dodgy transactions they had stopped. While it seems legit, I guess scammers could copy this number too. If you’re unsure, best to ring Lloyds directly using the number on the back of your card, ideally from another phone just to be safe.

Received a call checking on two recent payments. I rang Lloyds and they confirmed they’d made the call. One of the payments was for a Google Pay account I didn’t set up, so it could’ve been fraud. They cancelled my card straight away. They told me I did the right thing by calling them back. Still, I can’t be 100% sure this number isn’t ever abused by scammers, so it’s always safer to ring your bank directly just to be sure.

I got an email claiming my Facebook account had been hacked and someone was trying to get access to my bank details. They left a phone number in the message, which I decided to check out carefully. When you ring your bank to verify the call (check out the comments below AND GIVE THEM A READ) the customer service agents usually know if the bank has tried to reach you and can put you through to the right team or help sort it out. Keep in mind, the staff might not recognise every single phone number the bank uses. Even if they say it’s a scam, that doesn’t always mean the number itself is dodgy. Spoofing of real company numbers is a big headache for both businesses and people like us.

I got a message from +447723361922 saying something like, “You need to reply or we won’t allow future card transactions. Lloyds Bank saw a purchase on your Lloyds debit card ending **** at SAINSBURYS on 11-09-2022 21:29:34 for £0.00, but it was declined. If that was you, text YES, if not, text NO.” Then I replied but they said they didn’t get it and asked me to try again with just Yes or No or ring 03330459565. The weird thing is, the card details are actually mine, as is my phone number. I’ve also seen comments here where people say this comes from Lloyds Bank’s fraud team? Feels dodgy to me. Getting scammed on an scams site, what a joke.

Got three calls today from this number and I knew right away it wasn’t Lloyds. They told me themselves ages ago that they would NEVER ring up to chat about any issues. So yeah, don’t fall for it - it’s definitely not the fraud team at Lloyds. Just a heads up for anyone else getting this.

Got two calls from 0333 045 9565 in one day, and it was seriously weird. It wasn’t a person but an automated voice, and it actually knew my full name plus the last four numbers of my debit card. Then it asked me to enter my birth date, which I didn’t do - just hung up straight away. Half an hour later, the same number rang again and the machine told me to call back on that number. Being curious I phoned back, and once again it asked me to confirm it was me by name, referenced my card and said it was a fraud check. When it came to entering my DOB, I hung up once more. For a bit of context: my missus bought something on Vinted without telling me. There was a small £0.10 charge from Vinted to check my card, but not the full amount. Lloyds then sent me their usual “if this is you reply YES, if not NO” text, which I ignored because I had no clue about the purchase. A couple of hours later, the first call came through from that number. I then called Lloyds fraud team and got everything cleared up. They confirmed the calls were genuinely from them, using that 0333 number, following up because I hadn’t replied to their verification text.

This is a legit number from Lloyd’s Bank. However, scammers have faked calls from pretty much all banks’ numbers nowadays. Don’t just block these calls straight away. Loads of people on here have given really good advice on how to handle them.

I got a bit wary, so I rang my bank - but I didn’t use the number on my caller ID, I used the one on the back of my debit card instead. Turns out it was actually a proper call from Lloyds. I even got a couple of texts from them afterwards. Never ring back the number that contacted you, cos scammers can fake the caller ID to make it look like it’s from your bank. If you call the number on your card, you’ll definitely get through to your bank, and they can tell you if they’ve been trying to get in touch. They spotted a dodgy payment and stopped it, so all good.

This number has rang me a few times saying it's Lloyds bank, telling me to enter a code to stop some dodgy activity. Strange thing is, I’d only just used my Lloyds card the previous day in places like Monki, Office Shoe Shop, and Urban Outfitters. The call actually came from Lloyds, but they also sent me a text first to say they’d be ringing, and later texted to see if I preferred to sort things over text instead. Just a heads up, scammers might use this number too, so be careful not to share your details.

Today I got a call from this number, and they suddenly started asking for my birthdate. At first, I thought it was legit but then it hit me - it was a scam attempt. I’d been trying to pay for something costing £42.99 earlier and noticed my bank tried to charge me £195 instead! Thankfully, the bank blocked it in time.
