The message was something like, “We tried using your card but it didn’t go through, please press any key for a quick verification…” Heard it twice this morning and it’s just sketchy. Avoid that number!

This number popped up a few times, and I ignored as it showed as a scam. After reading some of the reviews here, I rang the bank. They told me loads of customers, about 20,000 apparently, had reported calls from this exact number. The bank advised me to block it straight away - seems like a dodgy scam.

Got a call claiming they'd stopped a massive payment to some company and said if it wasn't me, I had to call a number back or reply ‘no’ to their text from the day before, or my card would be frozen. Total scam, obviously. Don’t bother replying or phoning them - they just want your bank info. Best thing to do is ring Halifax directly on an official number and let them know what’s going on.

This number rang me up saying it was the HALIFAX about some dodgy activity on my credit card. I hung up straight away and then rang the HALIFAX FRAUD DEPARTMENT myself. They told me that 03330459569 isn’t linked to Halifax Bank at all. I've received multiple calls from a number claiming to be Lloyds Bank regarding a credit card transaction linked to someone named Keith Fouracres, who we don't even know, at our address. When this number showed up on my phone today, I didn’t pick up since I’d marked it as likely Spam, especially after struggling with an online payment last night. They ended up calling twice more and even sent a text. I rang my bank using the number on my card to get to the bottom of it and was informed that this number is actually on the official Halifax bank's list. They transferred me to the fraud department, and once my issue was resolved, I double-checked about the number. Turns out, it was a confirmed Halifax fraud contact.

This number is definitely real and belongs to Halifax’s fraud team. You should call them back on the number you have. I got a call about three recent suspicious phone payments. I knew about two of them because I gave my card details and the three digit code over the phone to companies I trust for services. The other two were fraud attempts from the US, each for 77p, done just after midnight the same day Halifax called me, and they blocked those. When I called Halifax back to report the fraud attempts, they stopped my card straight away and sent out a new one.

Dont ever just ignore calls or messages from your bank. But also dont reply straight away if its out of the blue. Best thing to do is ring your bank using the phone number on your card to be sure its legit. And have a look at older comments on here too. Even tho these numbers might look like real Halifax or Lloyds, scammers can fake those numbers and sometimes they post fake scam warnings to trick folks into blocking or ignoring real calls.

I reckon this was a legit call from the Halifax Fraud team but I never trust cold calls. The night before, I got lots of messages asking me to reply YES or NO if I'd made a purchase. When I said NO, the messages said they'd ring me the next day. Funny enough, my Samsung phone actually marked the number as "Potential Scam", which is odd when they’re calling about fraud. Got loads of calls today and yesterday from 0333 045 9596 claiming to be Halifax Bank. Also got a text from a mobile number pretending to be Halifax. Reported it all to Halifax now.

They keep ringing me loads of times each day. Left a message sayin they’re leaving a message for me and they know my name, saying my debit card has been used oddly. Claimed to be from the Halifax fraud team askin me to call 03330459569. It feels dodgy, real robotic voice, and there’s a loud click right at the start before the message plays, like a recording or something. Definitely seems like a scam from what I got on my answerphone.
