Got a message from Halifax Fraud Dept about a dodgy transaction they'd stopped. They said they'd send another text asking me to confirm if it was me by replying yes or no. When I replied no, I got a follow-up saying thanks and that I'd get a call from 03330459570, warning if I didn’t answer the call, future transactions might be blocked. My banking app also notified me that the transaction was blocked. The call started with an automated voice asking me to press any key to continue. Once I did, an agent came on who confirmed my name and postcode. She asked about the suspicious transaction, double-checked I had my card, checked another transaction, then put me on hold. After about five minutes, she suggested the best option was to cancel my card and send a replacement. She asked for the first line of my address and shared some security tips before ending. Just to double-check, I logged into the app and contacted the bank through their messaging service. They confirmed the phone number was legit and the call was genuine. You can also check your card details under card management - if they’ve cancelled your card, those details won’t show up anymore. Having worked at Lloyds before, I know that blocked transactions don’t appear on your statement as that’s handled by back-office systems. So not seeing the fraud transaction on your list doesn’t mean the call is fake. I blocked this number ages ago yet somehow I still get notifications about new voicemails from it, even though there’s nothing there. Every time it rings, it’s just some robotic voice on the line. I called Halifax to ask if it was them, but they denied it was one of their numbers. You just have to stay tough cause these calls keep coming non stop.

Got six calls from these lot all within an hour - didn’t pick up any of them - gonna ring the Halifax fraud dept tomorrow. It’s Good Friday so I doubt it’s really Halifax calling me, never on both my phone and landline anyway - wonder how they even got hold of my number. Looked them up online and saw the reviews - now they’re blocked on my phone.

If this really is Halifax, then how come they’re ringing me from a Bank of Scotland number? I rang Bank of Scotland myself using a number I know is legit, and they said it wasn’t from them! Anyone saying this is a real call is talking rubbish.

Got a few calls today from this number, all automated. When they asked for my date of birth, I just hung up. Then I decided to call Halifax directly using a verified number to report what looked like a scam. The person I spoke with there said their Fraud Dept never makes these automated calls.

Halifax fraud team calling. It's a legit number. They were aware of my recent purchases but only asked for a small amount of personal info. I missed the call but confirmed with the bank directly and called back using their official app. If this number rings you, it means your card/account has probably been hit by scammers, so don't just brush it off. Halifax seems to be spotting these fraud attempts well.

They rang me three separate times today using my mum’s full name. She’s 71 and honestly could get tricked by this sort of thing. Proper frustrating!

This number has rang me a few times today and left a voicemail too. I didn’t pick up or reply to the message. I decided to ring Halifax using a number I know’s legit to check if it was them trying to get hold of me and if they’d use this number. They told me straight up this isn’t their number and they haven’t been trying to reach me. So anyone on here saying it’s legit is probably a scammer trying to trick you!
