Got a pretty sneaky scam today. First off, I got a text supposedly from Lloyds Bank, but the number and name were hidden. The message said to check the Lloyds app instead of replying by phone, which made it seem legit. Thing is, I’ve never even used Lloyds for my banking. After that, I had 3 calls with voicemails where they actually used my name. I’m thinking maybe they grabbed my details from those recent hacks at places like Co-Op or M&S. Honestly, the good reviews on here sound like they might be from the scammers themselves.

I know scammers could fake listings like this, so I’d suggest you do the same and get the number straight from Lloyds’ site. Dont ever just ignore a random call from your bank. Always ring them back on the number on the back of your card to check. Banks can use loads of different numbers to get hold of you, so you cant be 100% sure if its legit or some con artist trying to steal your info or money. Ive heard scammers sometimes post fake warnings about real bank numbers on here just to make people block them or report to ‘7726’ - that then puts a scam flag on that phone number across the network even if it’s safe. So just be careful and double check with your bank directly.

For me, it was Lloyds calling and it turned out to be genuine. The number belongs to their fraud department. My card got blocked after a payment I made was flagged as suspicious (it was just a black cab app fare). I got a call from that number, thought it might be a scam at first, but since it matched up with my card being frozen, I rang back. They simply asked me to verify the transaction and then my card was unfrozen. Completely legit in my experience.

Right away, I knew something was dodgy when I got a text saying I’d approved a payment I didn’t make. After that, I kept getting calls with an automated message asking me to press any key to proceed. I just hung up and called my bank straight away. They confirmed it was a scam, so I got the transactions stopped and had my card cancelled. Luckily, I sorted it all out in less than 20 minutes.

It was Lloyds Bank trying to get in touch but I didn’t recognise the number so I ignored it. They phoned me back on my landline straight away and I blocked that as well. In the end, I called them back on the number I have saved and turns out there was some dodgy activity on my debit card. All sorted now tho.

Got a call from an automated voice telling me to call that number about suspicious activity on my bank account. Called Lloyds myself and they said everything's fine. Definitely a scam trying to trick me.

Definitely Lloyds Bank. I was a bit iffy at the start, but after calling my bank on their usual number they said it was them trying to get hold of me about a debit card purchase they suspected might be dodgy (turns out it wasn’t).

Picked up the call and they started askin me security questions then just hung up. Lloyds Bank always says they only get in touch through letters. Had a look on their official site and this number wasn’t listed anywhere. Definitely a scam call. Do your best to block it!

0333 045 9557 isn’t a scam. I was suspicious at first coz when I picked up, it just switched to an automated voice right away. I hung up and rang my bank, who told me the message was legit and not a con.

Yeah, it really was the Lloyds fraud team. I double-checked later using a phone number listed on Lloyds’ official site and they verified it. They knew everything about my latest transactions, so if it was some scammers pretending to be them, they wouldn’t have needed to ask for more details!

Got a recorded call claiming to be from Lloyds fraud team, sounded pretty real at first. Fortunately, I was close to my local bank so I popped in and checked with them. They rang the number given, which asked to press any key but nothing happened when they did. Bank staff reckoned it's a scam, as the message was about your card and account security. If you fall for it and give details, they could empty your account 😑

I received two phone calls and a text from this number, which left me a bit sceptical regarding its authenticity. However, after doing some digging on this site and reaching out to them directly, I can confirm it is indeed a genuine contact for reporting possible fraudulent activity concerning my bank account. I'm rather impressed by the level of security they have established.
