Just got a call from someone, actually a real person this time, not some recorded message. They asked for my name and postcode and then started threatening me about some warranty being out and the possibility of arrest. Before I could say anything else, the line cut off. I chose not to pick up, but I heard the voicemail, and it sounded really scary at the start. They were giving me orders and said if I didn’t follow them, there was a warrant and the cops would come arrest me! I’ve blocked the number straight away.

i wouldnt pick up or say anything if you get a call like that! i googled hmrc and their warnings about these dodgy calls, they actually mention they know about these scams where people threaten with legal action. if you do get called, just hang up right away. also, they ask folks to email details of the call so their phishing team can look into it, so you can help by passing on info if needed.
