Phone rang but I ignored it, then an automated voice with an American accent started going on about me being arrested soon. I didn't hang on, just blocked it right away.

Got a call with an American voice, sounded robotic, asking me to press 1 because there’s supposedly tax fraud linked to me. Seriously, don’t press anything, it’s dodgy. They’re also ringing from 0300 2003350 - watch out!

Being seven months along and getting a call like that about arrest warrants is utterly distressing. I can’t fathom why anyone would feel the need to cause others such panic. It’s really unfair, especially when one is in a delicate condition. What possesses people to behave this way? It's both baffling and frustrating!

Honestly, I'd say don't pick up calls from numbers you don't recognise. Better yet, have a quick Google search on the number first before deciding to answer. Saves you loads of hassle.

Total waste of time call.

Just like a bunch of others have said, these muppets rang me up claiming there’s a tax fraud probe from HMRC and if I didn’t hit 1, they’d issue an arrest warrant right away. Proper threatening stuff, honestly.

Complete scam, don’t even bother. The caller sounded like an American pretending to be from HMRC. Just block the number on your phone and get on with your day.

Got a call from some robovoice saying it was HMRC, telling me I’m involved in some tax fraud and to press 1 to talk to them. They said if I didn’t press, I’d get a warrant slapped on me and arrested. I just ended the call and now I’m waiting to see if they actually send anyone - pretty funny if you ask me!

I’ve just experienced something quite unsettling! Moments ago, I picked up the phone and pressed 1, only to hang up a couple of minutes later. A man with a distinct Indian accent was insisting that I was somehow scamming Her Majesty’s Government. He even provided me with an ID, a case number, and a warrant number! Now, it seems they’ve taken a liking to my number, as they keep ringing me back incessantly. Quite baffling, I must say!

Got a call from some scammer saying I've got a tax fraud case against me. It was one of those automated messages, and it kept warning that if I didn’t hit ‘1’ to speak to a real person, I’d be arrested soon. Totally dodgy!

Today I got a call from that number too, but I didn’t press 1 like they asked, I just ended the call when they mentioned arrest. Then I looked up 0300 200 3340 online and couldn’t find it linked to HMRC anywhere. I tried calling back and the number just isn’t even real. I know HMRC always sends letters first and never just calls to arrest you straight away without any proper explanation or ID. It’s definitely a scam, nothing legit about this call! Total rip-off, watch out lads.

I've been getting loads of annoying calls from these scam numbers lately. Now, I've decided that if a number isn't saved in my contacts, I just don't pick up. Works better that way!

About five minutes ago, I got a call from someone claiming to be from HMRC. They told me to press 1 or the police would come arrest me. I accidentally gave them my postcode, and then they said I hadn't paid taxes for 2015, 2016, and 2017 properly. They even said the case has gone to court and a police officer would show up at my place within ten minutes.

I got a call from this number but didn’t pick up. After checking here, I saw others saying the same thing. HMRC normally don’t ring you up on the weekends! Also, now the number is switched off, though all the legit HMRC lines seem to be working perfectly.
