So apparently I’m supposedly tied up in some sort of fraud and HMRC’s about to send a warrant to have me arrested. Bit frightening, cos I’m sure loads will get caught out by this. Hopefully if people do believe it and press 1 to chat, and then get some dodgy American robot voice, they’ll realise it’s dodgy. Just to be clear - HMRC don’t ring you up like that, and unless you’ve specifically given them your mobile, they wouldn’t have your number. Best just to ignore the whole thing!!

0300 200 2119 is a total SCAM! Got a call from 'HMRC' saying theres some fraud case against me and i had to press 1 right away. They kept going on about a warrant being issued if i didnt press it. Yeah right, like HMRC would contact anyone like that about serious legal stuff. Makes me worried for anyone who might actually fall for this rubbish.

I got a missed call and looked up the number to find out who rang. After reading the reviews, I rang the real HMRC on their official 0300 200 3300 line to check about this fake number. HMRC told me to report 0300 203 316 to Action Fraud by calling 0300 123 2040, as it’s definitely NOT HMRC making threats. The more folks report these scammers, the quicker the Police can take action. If you had a call like mine today, please make sure to contact Action Fraud and report it.
