Got a call from this number +442037000190 today, some bloke saying his name was Officer Alex Morgan from HMRC. He claimed there’s an arrest warrant out for me over unpaid taxes and said I need to pay £998 straight away to sort it. I told him that’s not happening and asked him to send me the court papers in the post, then he just hung up on me.

On 29/06/2020, I received a phone call informing me that there was an arrest warrant issued for me and that I should expect to be arrested. The caller provided a reference number. The call left me feeling shaken, so I tried to reach out on the given number but couldn't get through. When I checked the number for HM Revenue, I noticed that the ending digits were different. Thankfully, my son reassured me that it was a scam.

This call really shook me up. In normal circumstances, I'm usually savvy when it comes to dealing with such calls, but being in lockdown for an extended period may have contributed to my vulnerability. It's important to acknowledge that this kind of scam can have serious consequences, possibly leading to heart problems or strokes for some individuals

03002003319 rang me earlier, but my old phone is rubbish and I couldn’t catch what they were saying properly. I ended up speaking to someone, and when I mentioned calling the police, they said they’d send officers round. I argued with them for a bit before realisng it was pointless and hung up. Just to be safe, I’m planning to get in touch with HMRC tomorrow to check things out. Honestly can’t believe I let myself get caught up like that.

I received a similar message on November 14th, 2017. It is essential for the Police, HMRC, and the telecom companies to take immediate action to end any interference with phone lines. The authorities must work diligently to prevent and apprehend these criminals or maniacs who deceive and disrupt the privacy of UK citizens. This kind of activity poses a threat to the well-being and security of households in the country.

This phone scam is an extremely serious incident, categorised as the worst form of fraudulent activity. Individuals are receiving calls that include intimidating threats regarding potential legal consequences due to issues with their taxes. Supposedly, these calls are coming from the HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) department. What's unsettling is that scammers have managed to unlawfully obtain and misuse a legitimate HMRC phone number. It is crucial to inquire about the actions being taken by the authorities - the Police, HMRC, and OFCOM - to address this alarming situation.

Usually, these calls are incorporated in free call packages.
