Somebody called saying they were from HMRC, trying to help me get tax money back. But the noise in the background sounded like a busy call centre in India, and the person’s accent wasn’t British English at all. They kept saying they were from Westminster, but I know the actual HMRC office here is out in the countryside. Honestly, they’re up to no good and deserve to be dealt with.

This is the fifth time this week I've had one of those calls, so I just don’t pick up anymore. No clue how they even got hold of my number in the first place.

Don’t fall for it if they say they’re from HMRC - they’ll never call to say there’s a warrant out or anything like that, they’re not cops. Best thing is don’t even pick up, just block the number. I only answered so I could tell them to jog on!
