Last week, I received a voicemail from this number, and today I got a rather unsettling silent call. The caller claimed to be from HM Revenue and Customs and insisted that I get in touch with someone named Denise Gray. They warned that if I failed to respond, I could be facing court proceedings. Quite alarming, to say the least!

I received a rather alarming call from someone claiming to be representing HMRC, and they were rather insistent that I needed to have my solicitor respond post-haste, or I’d face some unspecified consequences. Strangely, though, it seemed quite a challenge to verify this person's identity or gather any real information. Now I'm attempting to get in touch with HMRC directly, but that’s turning out to be quite the struggle too.

Got a recorded woman saying she was "Derek" 😂 from HMRC. She warned me that if me or my lawyer didn’t ring back ASAP, I’d be in big trouble. Sorry "Derek", but you’re not getting a call from me! Got a call from 08443510665 telling me I needed to get in touch with them right away, claiming to be from HM Revenue. I rang back about 10 mins later. The guy said, “Hello, this is HM Revenue.” I asked where he was calling from, and he just laughed, asking why I wanted to know. I told him I got a call from that number, then it went totally quiet. He had an Asian accent. I ended up hanging up and checked the number online. Definitely a scam.

Just got off the phone with HMRC after finding their genuine number online (0300 200 3100) and ringing them up. They confirmed it’s totally a scam, all about child benefits. Seriously, don’t get drawn into any chat with this “Denis Grey” or anyone like that! It’s a complete con and I double-checked with the real HMRC.
