I received a rather concerning call, supposedly from the HMRC, with someone claiming to be Officer Denise Grey-strangely, the voice was feminine! They left a rather intimidating message, insisting that I either return the call or have my solicitor do so. However, I noticed that the number doesn’t appear to be linked to HMRC at all. It’s important to note that HMRC typically communicates through letters and never calls unless there has been prior contact. Besides, it seems the terminology has been updated too; it should be HMRC and not the former Inland Revenue! I’d advise anyone to be sceptical about such claims.
