Got a call from someone pretending to be O2, saying my payment didn't go through. If it wasn't for the fact I'm with a different provider, I might have believed it. They even gave me a website to check it out. Pretty sneaky if you ask me.

Called me up saying I qualified for this government programme about new double glazing. They even got my name right. I told them I’d let the lady they were after know, but I knew she wasn’t in the market for windows. I always act like I’m answering for someone else and never say it’s me! Feels less risky that way. Heard about data stuff too, so I’ll be blocking that number now. Cheers!

I got tricked by the number and picked up, hearing a nicely spoken bloke with an Indian accent. He called me by name, and even though I didn’t say if he was right or not, he carried on like it was a cold call. After listening for a bit, I told him the connection was terrible and asked him to say it again. Right after that, he just ended the call.

I picked up cos I thought it was a call I was waiting for, but then a woman started talking and somehow knew my name, which was really odd. this number rang me a few times. the bloke on the phone actually said my name, which is strange coz i have no clue who he is. he’s tried calling from a bunch of different numbers, mostly in the afternoon but once on a saturday too. i know the voice but never answer, just cut off straight away. felt pretty weird and made me uneasy. kind of feels like he’s tricking the system to show fake numbers or something.

If folks didn't give cold callers the time, I reckon they'd stop pretty quick. Truth be told, some do end up chatting with them, so the calls keep coming. Me, I never answer or get involved, and whenever a firm keeps hitting me up with calls or junk mail, I make a point of never buying from them. I've done that a few times now, and it works for me.
