I've had several calls from 0345788443 claiming to be from the NatWest Bank's fraud department. They really put on a convincing act, but I suspect it’s a scam. Quite worrying how professional they sound, to be honest!

I had a rather concerning call from this number, a chap identifying himself as Richard from NatWest. He claimed that I had made a purchase at Argos for £159 and that a direct debit of £599 was about to leave my account in just half an hour. Then he inquired about how many accounts I held with the bank and posed a security question. I declined to answer, feeling quite wary as it smelled of a potential scam. He proceeded to ask about my last two transactions, which I divulged. However, I was fully aware that one of them belonged to a completely different account (but kept that little detail to myself). He insisted he could confirm I had indeed completed two transactions, which was nonsense since one was charged to a bank card and the other to a credit card. When I requested him to verify the number he was calling from, I quickly looked it up online, reassured myself he wasn’t affiliated with the bank, and informed him it was likely a scam. His response was to hurl some quite offensive names at me before abruptly cutting off the call. The alarming part? The number that rang me was just a single digit away from the genuine NatWest hotline! What a bunch of utter numpties! I had plenty on my plate to handle this afternoon, not least working to deposit into my own account, which they seemed intent on raiding!

This number is a total scam! They're posing as NatWest, alleging there's some dodgy activity on your account. Best to hang up immediately and reach out to your bank directly!

Got a call from some bloke called Adam Webster claiming he was with NatWest, said it was about some kind of fraud. Felt off straight away.

The caller bombarded me with a series of "security" questions. I swiftly ended the call (thank goodness before divulging any info) and reached out to Natwest directly. They assured me it was indeed a scam.

I received a phone call purporting to be from Natwest’s fraud and scam team. The caller claimed there was an unusual transaction of £450 attempting to be withdrawn from my account. They assured me that they had intervened to prevent it but insisted I needed to transfer my funds into a new account for safety. They proceeded to ask me various security questions to access my account before sending a text with a link to set up this new account for the funds. Once I ended the call, I promptly contacted Natwest directly, only to be informed that it was indeed a scam, as the bank would never request such a transfer. They've lodged my report for investigation, but they mentioned it could take up to 45 days to resolve, and I might not see my funds returned.

I've received a call from this number, claiming to be representatives of the Bank of Scotland, discussing some recent transactions.

While I was on the line with them, the scammers phoned back, demanding that I complete the transfer. I firmly told him no, mentioning that I was in contact with the fraud department. He then claimed he'd ‘unblocked’ my account but warned that any future suspicious transactions wouldn’t be their responsibility.
