Today I got a ring from 03457888440, with someone pretending to be from the NatWest Fraud department, warning me about some dodgy activity on my online bank account. Luckily I wasn’t home when they called, but they said they’d lock the account and buzz me again later. When I got in, I looked up the number on Who Called Me and loads of people reported it as scammy calls. Now I’m hanging on to see if they call again so I can tell them I’ve checked up and know they’re up to no good!

I received a rather suspicious call from an unfamiliar number the other day, claiming to be from the “Natwest Fraud Team.” Shortly after, another call came in from this same number.

They were asking me to confirm my address details, which struck me as odd since my banking address is entirely different.

The chap then put me on hold, ostensibly to “check my records,” which allowed me to sneakily investigate the number in question. I ended up hanging up, prompting him to ring me back. When I informed him that the number appeared to be dodgy, he ended the call without a moment’s hesitation.

That’s two successful attempts to pull one over on me. They’re quite savvy, aren't they?

I promptly reached out to the genuine Natwest fraud team, and they mentioned that these fraudsters are trained to sound utterly convincing.

Just a word of caution-remain vigilant. They really do have some tricks up their sleeves.

don’t trust this number, they called saying they were from natwest about some £1 NHS scam. next thing i know, they tried to take €999 from my bank! definitely a big scam, make sure you block this number.

Received a call from someone claiming to be from the Barclays fraud department. I mentioned to him that I avoid unrequested calls due to potential scams, and that I’d be ringing Barclays myself for confirmation. He promptly hung up. Interestingly, this seems to be the same chap who contacted me from a different number just two days prior. On that occasion, I asked for his ID to verify his identity, and he ended the call then too. Don’t be taken in by this trickster; he’s clearly at it again. Always remember, a polite ‘thank you’ works wonders, but it’s best to reach out to Barclays independently!

Someone rang me claiming to be from Barclays fraud department. I told them I never answer unexpected calls about fraud and that I’d ring the bank directly instead. They just ended the call straight away.
