03457404401 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03457404401 👆 is reported as a persistent and sophisticated scam number frequently impersonating major UK banks like HSBC, Lloyds, and Nationwide. Callers claim fraudulent activity on accounts, often supplying personal details to seem credible, and pressure victims into revealing sensitive information such as security codes, passwords, or banking login details. Many victims report unauthorised transactions occurring during or shortly after calls. The scammers use spoofed or misleading phone numbers, sometimes just one digit off genuine bank contacts, making them hard to identify. Multiple warnings emphasise never sharing security details over the phone and recommend contacting your bank directly via official channels. Reporting incidents to Action Fraud and informing your MP about the scale of these attacks is advised to help combat the growing problem. Blocking numbers is largely ineffective due to frequent number changes and spoofing.

Somebody rang saying they were from Lloyds Bank, but I had a funny feeling about it. Doesn't sound right to me!

I had a rather dodgy call claiming to be from HSBC’s fraud department. They attempted to convince me that their number was quite close to the one printed on my bank card.

They were after my one-time secure password, but I wasn’t having any of it! I promptly ended the call and reached out to the genuine HSBC straight away, and they’ve since frozen my card for good measure.

Got a call from someone pretending to be my bank right after someone tried to mess with my card. They began talking about some more fraudulent activity happening, then started pushing for my bank info and login stuff. Yeah, no thanks. They rang me a few times after that too.

I received an irritating series of calls from someone masquerading as the fraud department of HSBC. They had the audacity to claim they knew my name and were very insistent, reaching out to me not once but four times!

Tried some dodgy bank scam but was super unconvincing. When they couldn’t get more info from me, they started threatening to come round, even mentioned my actual address.

Got a call from someone pretending to be Richard Parker from Lloyds bank fraud team. They mentioned my future mother-in-law’s name and my phone number, claiming it was linked to the account. He also knew my name and even rattled off the last 4 digits of her card. Tried to get more info, but since my number isn’t tied to any Lloyds account, it was an obvious con. Felt dodgy right from the start.

Got scammed by someone pretending to be from my bank. They knew so much about my account, it really threw me off. They tried charging stuff to Amazon, Argos, and even some dental firm before moving money outta my account. Can't believe I actually fell for it! They made it seem so legit, like it was really my bank calling.

I just had a rather suspicious call from 03457404401, where the person on the other end claimed to be from the NWB Fraud Department. He introduced himself as Christopher Nelson and mentioned something about a direct debit established in Peterborough for a wedding-related business. He seemed extremely convincing, saying he was merely there to assist me. However, when I informed him that I would reach out to my bank to verify who he was, he promptly ended the call.

I received a call from someone claiming to be from my first direct bank, insisting that they’d detected two significant withdrawals from my account. Naturally, I contacted my actual bank and discovered that no such transactions had occurred. I gave the bloke a piece of my mind and told him to get lost. Honestly, don’t fall for their tricks; they really ought to be locked up for ages!

I received a call from someone purporting to be from my bank, Nationwide. They seemed to have an unsettling amount of knowledge regarding the bank's procedures and policies. Regrettably, I ended up losing all my funds due to this scam. I can't express how heartbroken I am! For your own protection, I urge you all to steer clear of this number!

Beware of HSBC scams.

They may reach out to you requesting your username and then attempt to reset your account password by prompting you to produce a one-time security code.

Once they have that, they could easily alter your password and seize complete control over your account.

Just a heads up to stay vigilant!

I received a call from someone claiming to be with Vodafone, but to be honest, the line was dreadful and I could hardly make out what they were saying. So, I decided to reach out to Vodafone directly after the call, and surprise, surprise-they didn’t have any record of the number at all! To be on the safe side, I’ve now blocked it. Just a heads up for anyone else: steer clear of this number: 03457404401!

Today, on Christmas Eve, my 84-year-old father received a distressing call from someone pretending to be from HSBC. They claimed that his card had been compromised in Liverpool and that £500 had been withdrawn. It genuinely upset and stressed him out. Thankfully, he reached out to me, and immediately I recognised it as a scam. Just to clarify, the genuine HSBC fraud line is 03457404404, not the number that called him. This is obviously a fraudulent attempt!

Received a call earlier today claiming there was a dodgy transaction linked to an iPhone. Naturally, I wasn't having any of it and hung up straightaway. They then tried again from another line, 0800 917 9170, insisting they were from Santander. I let rip, telling them they should hang their heads in shame and went on about karma, refusing to let them get a word in before ending the call. I decided to ring the first number back-just my way of seeking a bit of revenge with a hand pump air horn since this isn't the first time I've encountered this nonsense. The first number was a no-show, but the second one directed me to an automated Santander answerphone, which made me cringe, thinking I'd been harsh on someone innocent. So, I rang Santander directly, and thankfully, they reassured me that there was no strange activity on my account and that both numbers were indeed fraudulent. What an absolute nightmare! It’s alarming how cunning these scammers have become; it really gets under my skin to think they prey on vulnerable folks, scaring them into handing over their personal details without a shred of conscience.

Received a call supposedly from HSBC, but the chap sounded quite uneasy when I asked for his name and the purpose of the call. He mentioned that my other bank had reached out to him about some fraudulent activity. I tried to verify the number, but it seems to be a dodgy one-invalid, in fact. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!
