Got a voicemail saying I’d made a purchase and to ring them back if I didn’t agree with it. I never bought anything though, so I didn’t call back. This has all the signs of a scam if you ask me.

I got a call about £2000 charged to my card, and they said to press 1 if I hadn’t made that purchase. Thing is, I’m not even a HSBC customer. Pretty suspicious if you ask me.

There seems to be a fraudulent scheme circulating, purportedly connected to HSBC. Exercise caution! The callers assert they're from HSBC's fraud department, claiming that there have been suspicious activities linked to your card.

Got a call from someone claiming to be HSBC fraud team. A couple things seemed fishy, but the biggest red flag was when they said they'd create a new account number and sort code for me. Then they asked me to move all my money over to it myself to "prove it was me" 😂 mad, really!

First I got a message saying the HSBC fraud team would be ringing me about suspicious stuff on my account. Then, barely a minute later, the phone buzzed. I just didn’t fancy it so I blocked the number and marked it as spam. Something felt off. After that, I looked up the number on Who called me and it confirmed I wasn’t far wrong to be cautious.

Had a call from someone claiming they were with my bank (HSBC) and they sounded really believable. They knew loads of personal stuff about my account and said I'd fallen prey to some fraud. The caller insisted I open a new account straight away to block a dodgy direct debit that was supposedly about to clear. I rang HSBC myself to check and it turned out to be a blatant scam. They even sent texts that looked legit. I’m pretty clued up with tech stuff but this one nearly got me.
