I had a call from someone who freaked me out by knowing way too much personal info and details about my credit card. I ended the call straight away and then rang my bank as quick as I could. Definitely watch out for these sorts of scams!

Watch out, this is a total SCAM! They pretend to be from Santander but it’s not them at all. They were asking me to confirm details for a new card, which is suspicious because I’d just updated my card after falling for an ENVI parcel scam. When I spoke to the actual Santander bank, the guy told me there might be fake calls like this pretending to be from Santander, and to just hang up immediately. Santander never ring you up like that. Definitely a SCAM!

This number called me pretending to be from John Lewis fraud team, saying there were a couple of dodgy transactions on my account. I checked my banking app, and there they were. Suddenly, I got a text with a 6-digit code, which the caller asked me to share. That’s when I got really suspicious. I told him to hold the line while I rang my bank. After that, he got pushy and eventually just hung up when he saw I wasn’t going to reply to any more of his messages.

I recently received a call from a number claiming to be the Fraud Department of HSBC, supposedly from someone named Michael Winterton. Initially, the call seemed genuine until they asked me to provide my username, address, and date of birth. At that point, I became cautious and informed them that I would like to confirm their legitimacy by contacting HSBC myself. They became pushy and tried to persuade me not to hang up, suggesting that I would forfeit any chance of recovering any fraudulent losses if I did so. To ensure my safety, I called HSBC using a different phone and explained the situation. They confirmed that it was indeed a fraudulent call and provided me with valuable assistance. They blocked my account and helped me establish new security measures. Moving forward, it's crucial to remain vigilant and always verify the authenticity of such calls with the relevant institutions before sharing any personal information.

I received a phone call today from individuals who identified themselves as HSBC representatives. They informed me about some fraudulent transactions detected on my account. In response, I requested them to cancel those transactions and also send me a new card.
However, things took a suspicious turn when they asked for my date of birth. Recognizing the risks of providing such information, I firmly refused to disclose any details that could pose a threat to my account security. The call abruptly ended after that.

It is important that people are cautious as this incident could be indicative of scammers attempting to deceive individuals.

I got tricked recently by a text pretending to be from the "post office," asking me to pay a re-delivery fee. I ended up believing it. Please be careful and NEVER share your info, it’s not from HSBC! This number’s dodgy and could be risky, best not to pick up at all.

I experienced a £3400 scam on Saturday from that particular number. It's difficult to comprehend how these individuals can sleep peacefully. My advice is to simply disconnect the call - I really wish I had done the same.

Just got a call today, 16/8/21, supposedly from HSBC’s fraud team. The bloke said his name was David, and there was a supervisor called Hannah on the line. They claimed my daughter's card was at risk and asked for her phone number to get in touch. I wasn’t having any of it and didn’t hand over her details. They said they’d ring back soon... if they do, I’ll be prepared. Honestly, these calls really spook me.

I received a phone call claiming there was unusual activity on my HSBC account. The caller requested a significant amount of information, but I declined to provide any details and they promptly ended the call. To ensure the authenticity of the call, I contacted my bank directly to verify if they had reached out to me. It turned out they had not. So please be cautious of this number as it is only one digit away from the genuine HSBC customer service line.

Yesterday, I recieved a call from someone who said they were calling on behalf of HSBC's fraud protection services. They told me that there had been some questionable activity on my credit card and even quoted the last four digits of my card. I quickly informed him that I had cancelled that particular credit card. You see, I had unfortunately fallen victim to a Royal Mail text message scam in which I shared the details of this card. As soon as I mentioned the cancellation, the person on the other end abruptly ended the call. It was at that moment I realized this person was not really from HSBC.

I received a phone call from someone claiming that there were fraudulent transactions occurring on my HSBC CARD. However, I don't have an HSBC account. The caller was insistent, but they eventually hung up once they realized that I wasn't going to provide them with any information.

I received a call from this telephone number yesterday evening. Fortunately, I quickly recognized that it was a fraudulent scheme. Although the call was intended for my husband, I insisted on speaking to them. Surprisingly, they didn't even ask for any security questions. If the call had been genuine, our actual bank would have surely followed a procedure to verify our identities. They even attempted to convince me to open my banking application, but I adamantly refused to comply with any of their requests for personal information. Eventually, they ended the call abruptly. It's quite unsettling to consider what might have happened if my husband had answered the phone. As a 68-year old, I fear that numerous older individuals might have fallen victim to scams like this.

Here's another occurrence from a series of three. There's this clumsy fellow who reads his lines poorly, reciting the same made-up accusations regarding MotherCare in Manchester (with identical amounts, no less). He insists he's calling from our bank, but the concerning aspect is that he got the last four digits of our card correct. However, our bank has confirmed that there hasn't been any suspicious activity. On top of that, MotherCare is no longer in business. These imbeciles really ought to come up with a fresh script.

It was 9:15 pm and I received a phone call from an unknown number. Initially, the caller inquired about some credit card purchases and even went on to ask about our address. Feeling suspicious, I ended the call. However, the person called back, prompting me to request their number so I could verify the legitimacy of the situation by returning the call. However, the caller became rude and claimed not to have a direct contact number. At that point, I decided to disconnect the call again.

This is definitely a scam! I suspected something was amiss when I received the call, as they didn't ask for any security details but instead just confirmed them to me. Sensing danger, I quickly ended the call and decided to reach out to the legitimate HSBC. Turns out, it wasn't them on the phone!

This number is very similar to the HSBC fraud line number. I received a call from this number claiming to be HSBC Fraud. They said that I would receive a text from them right away to verify my identity before they could proceed. They then asked me to read back a 6-digit number from the text. The text did arrive, but it was from HSBCUKPASCD and included a 6-digit number for authorizing a payment. It appears to be a SCAM! If you ever encounter this situation, I strongly recommend cancelling your card immediately. Someone has your details and phone number, which presents a serious problem.

Beware of credit card fraudsters who attempt to deceive you into accessing your internet banking. Unbeknownst to us, these scammers had already concealed our card details. Do not trust them or disclose any personal information. In an attempt to appear legitimate, they may even urge you to verify the phone number printed on the back of your card. This is a complete scam as they have masked the actual number.
