I got a txt from Halifax saying they’d send another msg soon about a possible dodgy transaction. The number seemed legit, not some fake spoof, and there was a proper message thread too. Then I got more info from 07401330826 telling me to check my app or ring 03330459575. I checked the app and it showed the transaction alright. After that, I phoned the bank using the number on my card to double check, and it turned out the payment was legit. So if you’re unsure, always phone your bank, but this one wasn’t some scam.

I wouldn’t answer this number, better just block it. I had some dodgy calls from a Chinese firm trying to scam my Halifax bank card. Luckily, my bank stopped all the payments, but weirdly I kept getting calls back from this same number. I ended up swapping my card so they can’t get hold of the new details.

Today I got two calls on my landline. The first one came from 0330459575 but I blocked it straight away. Then I found another call from 02840520875 which is a Northern Ireland Banbridge number. The second call was an automated voice claiming to be from Halifax, mentioned my name and said they needed to verify my credit info, then asked me to press a button. Using Caller Protect, it showed a number similar to the first one but with a #3 added on, something like 03330. Really felt dodgy to me!

Got a message warning me of unusual activity on my Halifax account and then saw a call from this number. I didn’t pick up because after reading all the scam complaints here, I was wary. I rang Halifax myself to check and they assured me the call was genuine and they really were trying to reach me. Seems like fraudsters might be faking this number though, which would explain the bad reviews. Even so, I’d still be cautious and avoid answering if I didn’t expect it. Always double-check with your bank directly to be on the safe side!

I received a message asking whether it was indeed I who was attempting to make a payment. They claimed they were going to cancel my card and instructed me to give them a ring, which I chose not to do. Subsequently, they reviewed the transactions I had made earlier in the day and inquired if those were authorised by me. I received a rather persistent call on the 27th of January 2024, purportedly from the fraud department of the Bank of Scotland. They rang me a total of eight times while I was enjoying a show at the theatre, so I only managed to answer later. It was an Indian-accented lady on the line who totally disregarded what I was saying, even when I suggested I'd prefer to discuss the matter at my local branch. Upon my visit to the bank, the staff confirmed it was indeed a scam. I didn't engage further with her and promptly blocked the number. Just a heads-up for everyone, stay alert!

I got a text from Halifax saying they’d stopped a suspicious transaction. I recognised the number from previous messages with them, so I trusted it. Then they sent a few more texts asking if I’d authorised other payments. After checking my banking app, I saw there were definitely some transactions I didn’t make. I replied ‘NO’ and then Halifax said they’d give me a call. The number that called matched the one I had. I was a little nervous and quite shaken, but the man on the phone sorted it all out - he cancelled the card, refunded the money and took off the dodgy transactions.

SCAM ALERT: Got an email claiming to be a receipt from Apple for a MacMini. The only way to get in touch on it was a phone number, 03330904875. Have a look at the green marked posts about 17 down from here, they were put up on this feed around half a year ago. Give them a read, might really help you avoid a lot of stress. Don’t brush off any calls from your bank, but also don’t blindly believe everything they say.

Got a text claiming to be from Halifax saying I needed to call them right away. They mentioned the last 4 numbers of my debit card. When I got through, the operator said they couldn't find my account and would connect me to someone else. The next person had a really strong Asian or Chinese accent, which made me a bit uneasy. She then said she couldn’t locate my account and asked for my sort code and account number to help. That’s when I just ended the call. I’ve since cancelled my card and asked for a new one. Definitely didn’t feel right at all.

If you ring your bank to verify if a call is legit (like in the post below), the people on the other end usually know whether the bank’s trying to get in touch and can put you through to the right team or sort things out. The call centre might not know about every number the bank uses, though. Even if they say it’s a scam call, it doesn’t always mean the number itself is bogus. Spoofing real company numbers is a big headache for both firms and customers alike.

this is definitely Halifax Fraud Prevention. If you follow the instructions during the call, it will connect you to someone from Halifax’s fraud department who’ll guide you and give you info. They ask you for some security checks, like sending a text message code. They explained the unusual charges on my account clearly. Sometimes they might ring you on your home phone as well, depending on your contact preferences set in the Halifax app or their default settings.

This is definitely Halifax scam related. The lady who assisted me was really kind, I noticed some dodgy charges and was hesitant to ring because of what I've read here. She managed to refund the fake payment and blocked my cards straight away. Don’t delay getting in touch if they message you!

SCAM ALERT. Got a robo call claiming to be from Halifax fraud team.. they even used my full name with my middle name. I rang Halifax myself and they said it's definitely a scam, they never phone customers like that.

This number's legit if you've spotted dodgy activity on your Halifax account. They actually text you this contact. Managed to stop them taking £340 from me. I rang Halifax directly instead of using the number in the text, and they told me it’s a proper number to call.

Got a few calls from this number today but I decided not to pick up.

I've been receiving calls purporting to be from my bank, but oddly enough, I haven't received any alerts or notifications through my banking app about any suspicious activity. It all seems rather dodgy to me, and I have a strong suspicion that it’s a scam.

I received a rather alarming call earlier from someone claiming to be my bank. It was a recorded message, warning me that they had detected some unusual activity regarding my account number. Quite unsettling, really!

Was trying to call a Halifax number I thought was legit but when I rang it, the person on the line said it wasn’t a number they know or use. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

I got called by someone pretending to be Halifax after I tried to download a parking app and accidentally ended up on a dodgy website. I didn’t realise until I’d already put in my card info cause I was in a rush. Halifax sent me a text asking if I’d authorised the payment. I actually had, but I said no to try and get them to ring me. That’s when they sent me a message from this number. They were really helpful, stopped the payment going through to the fraudsters and sorted out my card so I could pay for parking properly!

I got a call from 0333 045 9575 saying there was a weird charge on my card, and they asked me to call 0330 345 9575. I’d also got a text from Halifax and a different number too. Being a bit suspicious, I looked up Halifax’s number on Google and called them direct. Turns out it was genuine and was about an ad payment I’d made on Instagram. If you’re not sure, I’d definitely call the official number from Google. It took a while to get through, but it’s better to be safe since scammers are getting really convincing these days.

03330459575 called me on both my mobile and landline about possible fraud on my account with Halifax Building Society. I checked it was real by contacting the number found on the back of my card. Definitely a genuine call, no worries.
