Got a robotic call claiming to be from Bank of Scotland’s fraud dept - sounded really legit. Then the machine said it didn’t recognise the number i was calling from and asked me to enter the number that got the message. Foolishly, i punched in my mobile digits, and the call just cut off. Got a voicemail pretending to be from the Bank of Scotland. The number isn’t from BOS, and if the bank does ring, it’s always a real person, never a recording. I checked online and the bank’s official numbers always begin with 0345. This number showed up here as a known scam. Don’t trust the few people commenting that it’s legit - it’s definitely a con. Use BT’s call blocking to stop these calls. If they or other scammers ring, just dial 1572 and BT will block the number, so you don’t get bombarded with fake calls nonstop.

Got a call from a landline with a recorded message saying it was the Bank of Scotland. They mentioned a person who doesn't live here and claimed there was some fraudulent stuff going on with their debit card. The message wanted them to ring back straight away on that number. I've tried calling a few times today. I also let the person know in case it's something serious about their card. If it really is the Bank, they've bungled the contact details badly.

Got a text supposedly from Bank of Scotland saying my debit card ending in XXXX was used on 15-09-2021 at O2 ONLINE ORDER for £30 but the payment was declined. It said to reply YES if it was me or NO if not, and that texting back was the fastest way to sort it. Then a second message came through thanking me for confirming it wasn’t me, saying they’d ring me between 08:00 and 21:00, and if outside those hours to call 03330459579. There’s no way I’m phoning that number, it’s definitely not Bank of Scotland.

Never ever respond to this number! I was trying to buy something from an online store and luckily my card got declined. After that, I got a text saying someone tried to use my card, asking me to text back "yes" if it was me or "no" if it wasn’t. I just ignored it. They rang back a bit later in the evening, then again the next morning around 8:20am. I've blocked the number so they can't leave me a voicemail, but it keeps ringing through. I just let it go to voicemail and don’t pick up.

got a robocall claiming to be from bos, saying there might be some dodgy activity on my debit card, and told me to ring a certain number. i didn't fall for it and instead called the bos number on the back of my card. turns out, bos had indeed spotted a suspicious transaction and were holding it until we confirmed it was okay. makes me wonder what the scam really is? if someone rings that fake number, they might already have access to your card info and transactions, making them seem like the real bos. bit worrying really.

Warning signs right from the start! I got a message from “bos” which didn’t seem right - definitely not from Bank of Scotland. Then another text came from a random mobile number saying a payment of 22p was done, asking me to reply yes or no if it was me. I said no, then shortly after they messaged saying they’d call me back and gave a number claiming it was Bank of Scotland’s fraud line. I looked up that number online and it wasn’t legit at all. I’ve told my bank everything, changed all my cards and passwords, luckily no money was taken from my account.

so late on saturday night, 4th march 2020 around 11:28pm i got a message saying some weird activity on my account with £285.79 being withdrawn. thankfully, i got a text from my bank just in time and they blocked it. then the next morning, sunday at about 9:30am, i got a call asking me for my bank info. watch out for calls from numbers like these and always double check with your bank's fraud team!
