Was gutted when the call cut off before I could have a proper chat with the scammer. I love pretending to be daft and feeding them ridiculous details just to keep them on the line as long as I can. Usually, I finish by saying the UK fraud team has tracked the call and they'll be arriving at their address in about ten minutes. Makes the whole thing worth it!

Since Saturday, this number has been calling me repeatedly. I returned the call that same day and got a voicemail saying it was from "Revenue and Customs" and that I should call again. It seemed fishy to me. My wife, who used to work as a senior manager at HMRC, told me straight away this is a scam - HMRC doesn’t contact folks like that. If you get a call from this number, don’t answer or call back, it’s definitely dodgy.

Got a call like the ones mentioned before saying I was involved in tax fraud and that they’re going to arrest me.

i wonder how on earth they manage to find our numbers? and if it was so important, why bother leaving a voicemail at all. total rip-off.

Some bloke rang me saying he was from HMRC and that I'm involved in some fraud. I said I'd ring proper HMRC later when I got back, just to be sure. After that, I looked it up online and found all these warnings about it. Absolute muppets. Didn't get rattled but I can see how others might.

I got a call from 0300 2003896 too, and it's really driving me mad. These calls just won’t quit. Did anyone else deal with Win Win before? They’re a telecom company that’s shut down now, but I reckon they handed over loads of their numbers to dodgy groups. That’s probably why we’re getting so many rubbish calls.

Got a call from someone claiming HMRC had flagged me for fraud and threatened arrest if I didn’t press 1. I pressed it and a weird woman’s voice came on saying "please hold, your call is important". Got bored of waiting and just hung up. It really made me feel anxious and upset. Later I looked up the number online and found loads of other people had the exact same call - turns out it’s a scam. Honestly, it’s disgusting how some people prey on others like this. They’re the ones who deserve to be in trouble for upsetting people like that.

I got this robotic call saying I'd get arrested unless I hit "1". So I pressed it, and it put me through to some bloke whose words were all jumbled and unclear, loads of static too. Pretty sure it's a total scam.

They told me I’d get arrested if I didn’t hit 1. It was quite amusing to me, but I can see how it might scare some folks who are more vulnerable.

TOTAL RIP OFF. These con artists called pretending to be from HMRC, trying to trick me into giving out personal info. Honestly, it’s high time they were cracked down on. Nearly every 0300 number I’ve seen rings up is some kind of scam. I’ve blocked this one now, but I’m sure they’ll be back under a new number soon enough.
