I just got a text from 60886 saying it’s from HMRC, telling me I haven’t paid my tax. They said they’re putting me through to an officer, but I’m a pensioner and I know I don’t owe anything. A few days ago, the same number sent a text with the same claim but asked me to call a different phone number. That other number turned out to be a scam. Even though I’m sure I don’t owe any tax, all this is really stressing me out.

**A Crucial Reminder - This is HMRC’s debt management phone number, and it is definitely NOT A SCAM ***

Recently, I received correspondence from HMRC featuring this number. Had I heeded some of the opinions shared here, I might have overlooked a VAT payment from way back in 2019, stemming from a glitch during the transition to 'making tax digital'.

0300 200 3832 is indeed the number for HMRC’s debt management team. Oddly enough, it doesn’t seem to be listed on their official website.

If you're feeling uncertain, you can always call 0300 200 3700, which is available on HMRC’s official page here: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisations/hm-revenue-customs/contact/vat-enquiries, where I had queried regarding the aforementioned number.

I received a call from 03002003878, and they had the cheek to say I should press 1 or I’d be facing bailiffs over a tax bill I don’t even have. This is definitely a scam!

I received a rather peculiar phone call this morning from this number. They mentioned something about taxes and said I should anticipate a follow-up call after a wait of four minutes. To be honest, I’m feeling a bit uneasy about the whole situation and unsure what to think of it.

I received a call from this number, and it was an automated voice alarming me that "if you don't hit one, you'll face arrest for tax evasion!" Whatever you do, steer clear of it - it's utterly fraudulent!

I received a message earlier today urging me to call this number, claiming to be from HMRC. Since I've no unpaid VAT at all, I'm inclined to believe it’s a dodgy scheme.

I've been receiving this persistent text message, and I've noticed that the phone number isn’t registered with HMRC. It reads: "Just a friendly reminder - if your VAT Return hasn't been submitted and paid, HMRC may take steps to retrieve what you owe. Please visit the government’s website and look for 'pay VAT' to learn how to make the payment today, or feel free to reach us at 0300 200 3832." It's quite puzzling, isn't it?

Uważam, że ten numer wydaje się dosyć podejrzany.

Could you drop me a message confirming that the VAT hasn't been settled? I assure you, it has been, but we haven't yet submitted our return. Just to clarify, we have already taken care of the VAT.

I have a hunch that this message sent to my mobile is rather dodgy.

It seems this number is supposedly related to sorting out a VAT bill that doesn’t even exist? Sounds a bit dodgy to me!
