Everything seems fine, it could just be a straightforward matter that they need to resolve with you. Have a look at the HMRC website and perhaps give them a ring as well.

It's quite evident that those claiming this is a scam haven't bothered to verify any facts beforehand. There are instances where HMRC might not be able to send correspondence due to having an old address on file, or there may be other complications at play.

I received a call today from someone purporting to be with the VAT department of HMRC, insisting it was crucial for us to return the call and to mention our VAT number as we kicked things off. It felt a bit off, if you ask me.

Beware, folks! The HMRC will absolutely NEVER give you a bell. They prefer the old-fashioned method of sending letters. If you ignore those, they’ll eventually hand over the case to debt collectors. If matters still aren’t sorted out, they might even send an officer to your doorstep. So, rest assured, they do NOT make phone calls! This is nothing but a scam. Stay vigilant!

Received a call from someone purporting to be from HMRC. The chap, 'Jazz', stumbled over his words rather noticeably when I asked for some sort of verification for his identity. He provided me with a number to return the call, like that’s going to happen! No chance! Off you go, you fraudsters!

I can confirm that this is an authentic HMRC contact number. I received a call regarding VAT matters. It seems like the implementation of Making Tax Digital has prompted them to adopt a more proactive stance when it comes to reaching out to businesses...

I received a voicemail from this number claiming there was a problem concerning my VAT. When I returned the call, they were rather evasive regarding the specifics of what I supposedly owed. They then provided me with inaccurate details about my account and the alleged amount due. To top it off, they requested my payment information to supposedly settle an "outstanding balance" - which, mind you, doesn't even exist! When I inquired about the possibility of making a payment online instead, the representative went on to provide me with an account number and sort code for a transfer. Quite suspicious, if you ask me. Steer clear of these folks and don’t part with your money!

I'm quite puzzled about this particular number. I've heard whispers that it could be the "HMRC," but I have my doubts. It's quite odd as I've never had a call from them in the past. If they genuinely need to reach me, they should just pop a letter in the post. I have no intention of getting back to this number.

I received a voicemail earlier today from a lady with a distinct Scottish lilt. She mentioned my VAT number as a point of reference and urged me to get in touch with them before a specific deadline. It sounded quite pressing. I attempted to ring the number they provided, but alas, there was no answer. Feeling a bit wary, I decided to do a bit of digging online and stumbled across this site. I'm really pleased I did!
