So I got a call the day after I received a letter about owing some taxes to HMRC. The call was one of those automated ones, saying I was under investigation for tax fraud and if I didn’t press 1, they’d issue a warrant for my arrest. I’m pretty sure it’s a scam, but the timing was just so weird that it caught me off guard a bit.

Just got a call from this 0300 200 3091 number, said it was HMRC. I hit one and some Indian bloke answered, then he told me he’d get back to me on a different phone. Bit sus if you ask me.

I got a call supposedly from HMRC saying I was under investigation for fraud. It was obviously an automated message, and there's no way HMRC would deal with that like this. Best to just ignore it and end the call straight away.

Got a call from a number and an automated message saying it was HMRC. I ended up just hanging up straight away. There's no way HMRC uses auto replies like that. I've blocked the number now.

A lady with an Indian accent rang me up saying I was being looked into by HMRC for fraud. She talked all official-like, saying she was some kind of investigating officer and asked me to confirm my ID. She was pretty convincing, though the phone line was awful and crackly. I’m guessing she’s probably reading these comments now. Watch out, it’s definitely dodgy!

Just got a call from 03002003062, claiming I’m being looked into for Inland Revenue fraud. Complete bollocks, they told me not to press one or else. Definitely one of those dodgy scams from overseas, probably those Indians trying to scam people again. Don’t fall for it!

Someone called me claiming to be from HM Revenue saying I was under investigation for fraud. It was completely false, but still pretty disturbing, especially since I was just out shopping. This happened around 10.42 in the morning.

Around 11.23 in the morning on 18/04, this number gave me a ring. It kept going past three rings but I didn’t pick up, instead I just rejected it. My phone has this clever feature that tells me who’s calling, and it showed up as unknown. I always steer clear from answering unknown numbers.

It said, “Press 1 or you’ll get arrested,” so obviously I hit 1... Then they asked for my postcode, so I said SW1A 2AA. Next was the house number, I said 10. And then suddenly, “Are you serious?” Well, who’s joking here? 😂😂 Caller sounded like some bloke from India.

I just got a call from this number saying I owe some money to HMRC and accused me of tax fraud. They said if I don’t pay up, the police will come and arrest me. I just got a really scary phone call from someone shouting that I had a warrant for tax fraud and my bank accounts were frozen, plus they said they’d cancel my passport. They were shouting about needing a top defence lawyer straight away. Please don’t share any personal info with these nasty scammers!! I checked with HMRC and they said it’s definitely a fraud!
