I got a call from 03002003058 first, then they phoned again from a different number, 0800 788887. It was some automated message claiming to be HMRC, threatening me with arrest for alleged tax fraud. I happened to be driving when they rang, so I asked if they could ring me back, but they said no, that would cause immediate arrest or something ridiculous like that. I ended up pulling over to listen properly. They kept mentioning an HMRC audit, fraudulent transactions, and miscalculations, saying my assets would be frozen soon. They said they’d sent letters on certain dates but had no reply, and claimed a representative tried to hand-deliver a letter but nobody was home. The woman on the phone said her name was Aleena Johnson, and then passed me to a ‘senior manager’ when their shift changed. I asked them for proof to verify who they were, and they told me to Google it. Luckily, my phone lost signal shortly after, so I said I’d pay but needed to get home first and called back later. It took about 20 minutes to get home, and they stayed on the line the whole time. I also asked why they hadn’t left a voicemail if it was that urgent, and they said it wasn’t their policy. Once I got inside, I put the call on speaker, and my wife started questioning them. We searched online, checked the case numbers and locations they gave, and after a while, they just hung up. Absolutely SCAMMERS! They kept me on the phone for roughly 45 minutes. Honestly, if you’re feeling vulnerable, be extra careful with calls like this. - Caller: 03002003058 and 0800 788887

Just like loads of others have mentioned, I got one of those robo calls telling me I’m gonna get nicked by HMRC if I don’t hit 1. Honestly, does this rubbish ever end? It’s getting well annoying.

I had a rather alarming phone call from this number claiming to represent HMRC, insisting that I had some outstanding payments. They made it sound urgent, threatening arrest if I didn't settle the so-called debt immediately. Quite the scare tactic, if you ask me!

Today, I received a call from this number, and I was warned about a potential arrest.
I followed their instructions to press 1 three times, but each time they just disconnected the call.
They asserted they had ties to the government.

I got a voice message saying my name was involved in some tax fraud case and that I had to press 1 to give my info. They said if I didn't do that, I'd get arrested with a warrant out for me. Obviously, I just ended the call fast and then checked online about it. So glad to find out it’s just a scam. I’m also going to report it to the fraud department.

Got one of those calls again about tax fraud and some supposed HMRC warrant, left a voicemail too. The real HMRC number is 0300 200 3300 which sounds almost the same, so watch out. Had to hang on for a bit when I rang just to be sure, and yep, it’s definitely a scam, usually hits near the tax year end. Here’s what I found out: always call HMRC yourself to check, they’ll send you a letter before anything else, and they won’t ever leave a voicemail threatening you. I gave them all the info from the call so hopefully they can track the scammers down :) The number that called me was 03002003058.
