Got a call from someone claiming I’d done some serious tax crime against HMRC and that there was a warrant for my arrest. Total scam! Number was blocked straight away. Watch out for this one!

Got a robo call saying it was HMRC warning me about some fraud done in my name. They told me to press 1 to talk to someone handling it or else they’d send a warrant to arrest me!!! Yeah, right, no thanks.

I got a missed ring from this number at about 9:38 in the morning on Thursday 22nd August 2019. They didn’t leave any voicemail or say who they were - caller was just unknown.

Just like everyone else, they said they’d put out a warrant for my arrest.

So I got a call saying I’m being arrested for tax fraud by HMRC. After some automated voice, this weird guy with an Indian accent came on the line. It’s a bit odd because every time I’ve actually spoken with HMRC, it’s been a Scottish bloke or lass who jokes about how much money they reckon I’ve got to pay them. Definitely felt off this time!

HMRC was calling about some scam or something, then before I knew it, they were going on about getting the police involved, like, within 45 minutes tops. I just laughed and told them sure, a bit of a grope might be nice πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚

Got a call claiming to be from HMRC, saying I’d be arrested if I didn’t give them my name and address. When I asked for proof that it was actually them and not a scam, they just stuttered and then cut me off. Pretty sure it was a fraud attempt. Don’t share any personal info with these people!
