yesterday on a bank holiday, i got a call from this number and it was some tax fraud scam. the recorded message sounded really threatening. i just ended the call straight away. i work in tax myself so i knew for sure i hadn’t done anything wrong and that hmrc wouldn’t call like this out of the blue or on a bank holiday without sending anything in the post first. totally a scam, but i’ll admit it did worry me for a couple of minutes.

Got a call a minute ago from 300 200 30607 saying something about tax fraud and that I’d be arrested if I didn’t press one. Seriously? I’ve got an accountant for that kinda stuff. Didn’t bother pressing anything, just hung up straight away. These scammers really should find a proper job instead of trying to scam honest folks who work their arses off.

I got a call from 03002003060 where the person said they were from HMRC and told me my name was involved in some tax fraud. I quickly ended the call but now I’m a bit anxious since it came through on my mobile. I barely share that number, only with a handful of people, so it’s strange and worrying to get a call like that.

Got a call from 0300 200 3060 saying there's a criminal case against me. I hit 1, and then some American-accented female voice left me on hold. After that, an Asian woman came on and claimed I owed £1800 from old 2011 tax stuff. She warned if I didn’t pay up, they'd arrest me in 45 minutes. Total scam - watch out, folks!

Someone rang saying they were from HMRC and said I owed loads of money, thousands they said, and if I didn’t pay up straight away I'd be arrested for tax fraud. Seemed dodgy to me, so I told them I’d call them back to check if it was real before coughing up any cash. That’s when they just cut the line!

Just a few hours back, I received a call warning me about some tax fraud linked to my name and said I needed to press a button or else I'd be arrested soon. I didn't choose any option though, definitely sounds like a scam to me.

Got a call from a number telling me I owed money to HMRC and that if I didn’t press option 1 an arrest warrant would be issued. I chose to ignore their script and just said ‘talk to the hand’ before putting the phone down. Honestly, HMRC would never ring you up with a recorded message like that - they’d send a letter first. Also, a quick warning to everyone: don’t press any options! These crooks might be trying to hack into your phone that way. The best thing to do is just hang up and carry on with your day, no worries!
