Had a rather bothersome phone call from a Chinese individual who wouldn’t take no for an answer. He kept insisting that an old policy I supposedly had with Domestic & General had expired on 19th March 2022 and that I should renew it for £479. However, the truth is that my policy actually lapsed back in December 2020! I strongly suspect this is nothing but a scam. Don’t engage with them! I’ve asked for a copy of the alleged contract and eagerly await its arrival. I'm also planning to inform BT today along with Companies House. This sort of thing needs to be nipped in the bud!

I've had similar dodgy calls pretending to be from Edinburgh, Brighton, and London - all trying to sell me discounts on my household insurance. Since they ring me so often, I usually mess with them a bit. I ask what appliances they reckon I have and their brands, then tell them they’re talking rubbish. I never share any extra info though; I think they’re probably trying to piece together details about you.

Got a call on my home phone from someone saying they were with Domestic and General insurance. They claimed I had a policy for my household appliances, which isn't true at all. Don’t ever hand over your bank details to them. They try to convince you they’re offering insurance for your washing machine, dryer, or freezer, but really they just want to rip you off. If you’ve previously had insurance with D&G, check with your bank to cancel any old direct debits, so these fraudsters can’t take money from your account.

There's this group that calls up pretending to be from Domestic Insurance, trying to convince you that your appliances' warranty is about to expire. They push you to pay over the phone, but I'd steer clear of them at all costs, they're proper scammers.

This number has been calling me repeatedly. It’s a woman, sounds like she might be Indian or Pakistani, always going on about domestic appliances. This isn’t the first time I’ve had calls from them. It’s really starting to get annoying now and feels like I’m being harassed. I’m from Cornwall and honestly, it’s just turning into a proper headache.

They called me before too, with a number that’s almost the same, like 02920958714 instead of this one, 02920958715. Pretty sure it’s the same lot of ####. They don’t even bother trying to get through call guardian or anything.

Got a call on 10th March 2022 from someone claiming to be from a domestic appliance insurance company. I didn't hang about waiting for the full spiel. The person on the other end had a typical Asian accent and said my insurance was about to expire. Usually, they try to sell a renewal with a “discount” if you hand over your card info. Honestly, never share your personal or bank info over the phone with strangers. If you’re unsure, look up the official number yourself and ring them back. Stay safe!

Got two calls from these lot over the past week claiming they could give me a discount on my DG insurance. They knew my name but didn’t have any other info about my account. When they asked for my bank details and I said no, they just ended the call straight away. Sounds like a total scam to me.
