02030639213 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 02030639213 👆 is reported as a persistent and intrusive nuisance call number associated with scammers impersonating the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Callers often use Asian or Indian accents, demonstrate knowledge of personal details like names, addresses, and partial bank card information, and request sensitive data such as card expiry dates and direct debit details. The number frequently rings multiple times daily, sometimes with silent calls or hang-ups upon answering, causing distress particularly to elderly recipients. Numerous reports highlight aggressive or evasive behaviour when challenged. TPS officially does not make such calls or request financial information. It is strongly advised not to answer or provide any personal data, to block the number, and to report incidents to relevant authorities to help protect vulnerable individuals from potential fraud.

Got a call from someone claiming to be Barclays saying there’s a direct debit of £341 set up on my account. Looks dodgy, so watch out for these scams!

A bloke with an Asian accent called claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service, saying it was starting up on some specific date. I knew I’d been registered for yonks, so it felt dodgy straight off. He rattled off my name, address, and even some bank details (didn’t bother checking if they were right). When I told him he didn’t need that info, he sounded all polite and said he was just showing it to prove he was legit. I mentioned the TPS doesn’t need bank info since it’s a free service and wouldn't have that kind of data, and then he just hung up.

Used 1471 to check this number after getting loads of calls with no voicemail left. Looked it up here and found out it’s a scam, so definitely best to avoid. Really appreciate the info, it’s been super useful.

I received a call from a chap with an Indian accent who said he was with the Telephone Preference Service. He mentioned he could halt all unwanted calls, but before he could finish, we decided to cut the conversation short.

This number kept ringing me loads of times. Its a scam, pretending to be some Telephone Preference blocking thing. They even knew my name! Bet they got my info from that TalkTalk hack ages ago. Why is it so hard to block these annoying calls fast? Doesnt matter if they’re calling from abroad, once enough folks spot the scam, something should be done about it.

Got a ring from this number earlier today, some bloke with an Indian accent claiming to be from a Call Blocking service. He was asking for my Visa details to "verify" the service. I asked him for his name and phone number, but of course he dodged it. Told him he should be ashamed trying to scam honest people out of money! He hung up straight away. He sounded pretty convincing since he knew our names - no idea how he got hold of that info. Just a heads up to be cautious, folks!

Got a call on 21/2/2017 at 12.41, some bloke asking me to confirm my name. When I asked who he was, he said he was from telephone preference marketing. I then asked why he needed my info and he just asked if I was still getting annoying calls. I said, "You mean like this one?" and then the guy (he sounded Asian) just hung up on me!

I received a call from this number recently, and it was quite alarming. They had my name, address, and even the first few digits of my card along with the expiry date. It’s all rather concerning, isn't it?

I had the same experience as many others - a chap of Asian descent called me, rattling off my name, address, and even the expiration date of an old card I haven't used in ages. When I pressed him on how he obtained such personal information, he vaguely mentioned that I was 'previously registered' with his outfit. I assured him that I wasn’t, and that the Telephone Preference Service is entirely free, so I wasn't interested in whatever he was peddling. When I asked for his contact number, he abruptly cut the line. Quite dodgy if you ask me!

Got a call at 5:04pm from an 0203 number. Picked up and there was total silence, then they just hung up. These 0203 calls are so irritating, probably from abroad pretending to be local London. Really not happy about it.

I already knew who was calling, so I asked the woman with a strong Indian accent if she was deaf or something. She said no, so I blew a whistle into the phone and told her she is now. She hung up straight away. It felt good and I'll definitely do the same if they call back.

I received a call from an individual with a pronounced Asian accent who introduced himself as Craig Jones, claiming to represent the Telephone Preference Service. To my surprise, he was already aware of my name and address, which raised my suspicions significantly. He then proceeded to request my card details for setting up direct debits related to my phone service. Sensing something was off, I asked for a contact number to return the call with the appropriate information, knowing full well I had no intention of doing so. He provided the number 02036300351. This sounds like a dubious operation, and it’s crucial that action be taken to address this scam and potentially shut down that number.

Received a call from 02030639213 that ended up just going to my voicemail. Strangely enough, no message was recorded and there was complete silence with no sounds in the background. It could have possibly been a voice-activated call or simply a wrong number. Quite odd, really.

Received a call earlier today claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. The caller had my name and address, which immediately set my alarm bells ringing. They proceeded to inquire if I processed my bill payments via direct debit. When I pressed for clarification on their motive behind such a question, they abruptly disconnected. Quite unsettling, to say the least!

My poor parents, both in their eighties, have been bombarded with relentless phone calls at their home. They’re so confused by these scammers. Just earlier, they got five calls within half an hour! I received a call earlier from a man of Asian descent who claimed he was representing the Telephone Preference Service. He proceeded to insist that in order to continue blocking unsolicited calls, I’d need to provide my Visa card details. Naturally, when I probed further, he became quite flustered. I reminded him that I didn’t need to register my card when I originally contacted the TPS, so I flatly refused to share any information with him. His agitation grew noticeably, prompting me to end the conversation. Got a call from a man who sounded Asian with that typical call centre noise in the background. He said he was from "Telephone Preference Management" and handled call blocking. I've just had a rather suspicious call from some bloke whose accent suggested he was Asian. He insisted that I needed to verify information regarding a debit card that I've actually cancelled ages ago, all under the pretext of preventing unwanted calls from overseas or unknown numbers. Then, delightfully enough, I was transferred to another chap who was adamant about obtaining my three-digit security code from the back of the card. At that point, I absolutely lost my temper, reminding him that the Telephone Preference Service is completely free and doesn’t require any card information. In the end, I just hung up on them. Received a call today from an Indian chap purporting to be from TPS (Telephone Preference Service), insisting he could assist with the imminent expiration of my card - which, curiously enough, dates back to 2018. I played along for a while until he started probing for my card information. At that point, I called out the scam, and he promptly hung up. What struck me as odd was how he asked for my father, who doesn't reside here anymore, and then addressed me as Mrs (my father's name). Both my parents are in their late 80s and becoming a bit forgetful. Today has been quite distressing, as my elderly mother received five phone calls from the same number. When I arrived at her home, I caught her mid-conversation with a rather aggressive individual who had an Asian accent, amidst a cacophony of noise in the background. Upon realising he was fishing for her card details, I stepped in and requested that he communicate everything in writing. At this, he became quite hostile and abruptly hung up on me. I've since blocked that number, but it has left me feeling incredibly anxious for my mum. Please, keep an eye on your older relatives or friends; they often don’t grasp the intentions behind such calls. My mother is now worried that these unscrupulous individuals might show up at her doorstep, given that they know where she lives.
