Somebody called saying they were from Telephone Preference Management. They even knew my full name, address and phone number, and gave me the official Telephone Preference Service address where I'm actually signed up. Then, out of nowhere, they just ended the call. Definitely don’t hand over any bank details to them!

This number rings quite often, probably every day or so. I decided not to pick up after seeing the reviews here, so cheers to everyone who shared their experiences.

I’ve pretty much stopped picking up my phone now thanks to folks like this. I just ring 1471 to see who’s tried calling me and only get back to people I actually want to hear from. This number gave me a ring first thing this morning, glad I let it go to voicemail! How on earth do these companies get away with it? Total scam, honestly!!!!!

I received a missed call from this number a few days back. When I returned the call, it didn’t ring any bells. Today, an individual with an Indian accent, sounding quite distant, reached out, claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. He asked if I had been receiving nuisance calls and I replied affirmatively. However, when I inquired about the main office address of TPS, he gave me 14 St Margaret Street, London, but abruptly cut the conversation short. I've gone ahead and reported this incident to the Information Commissioner's Office.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent saying he was from the TPS. He actually knew my name, which freaked me out a bit. Claimed they were from X Directory, so I’m wondering which company sold my info or just couldn't keep it safe. Eventually, he tried to get me to confirm my credit card details, but I wasn’t having any of it and called him out. Then, no surprise, he just hung up on me without a word.

Got a call from a bloke with an Indian accent saying he was from the TPS, asked me to confirm my address and then wanted to know if my card was expiring next year. I said I didn’t have my card nearby to check, and he asked me to fetch it. That’s when it felt off - why would TPS need my card info when I thought they were free service? So I just hung up.

Got a call from this number, bloke claimed he was from Virgin and mentioned some details about our account. Then he asked for our debit card info to “update” stuff. I might be a bit older, but I could tell it was dodgy straight away and just hung up.

Just got a ring from this number, the woman said she was calling from the telephone preference service. She had an Indian accent and even mentioned my previous address. I refused to share any details with her and told her if I ever signed up to stop nuisance calls, they weren’t doing a great job. I also said I’d want a refund if I'd paid them before. She got really annoyed, and when I told her I had her number and would be reporting it to the cops, she just hung up on me.

Just received a call from an international number, 002030639212, and it’s definitely dodgy. They’re trying to fish for my credit card information! I reckon this is all part of some scheme to put a stop to pesky calls. Strangely enough, it shows up as an 020 or 0020 number, which is the calling code for Egypt. Quite the cheeky trick, if you ask me!

I've just received a rather dubious phone call. The chap on the line was insistent about my complete address and postcode, then proceeded to inquire about my debit card information. He claimed to be from TPD. When I pushed back and asked why he needed my card details, he abruptly ended the conversation. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a call today from a number saying they were from the TPS, asking to confirm my address and name - but they botched that straight away. Sounded like it was someone from an Indian call centre. The moment I told them they weren’t with TPS, they just cut the call. Blocked the number right after.

I just got a call like this where they asked for my card’s expiry date. It’s clearly a scam trying to steal money illegally. Surely there’s some way to catch these folks and put an end to what they’re doing?

I received a call from someone with a notable Asian accent claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service. They inquired whether I'd been experiencing nuisance calls. Just had a call like this to my missus from the same number. The bloke said he was with TPS and even seemed to know our number. He asked for credit card info to ‘verify’ us, but as soon as my wife said TPS don’t charge a thing, he dropped the call. Pretty dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call on my home line at about 9:27AM on the 14th of October 2016. The bloke on the other end spoke with a strong accent and said his name was Steve, claiming he worked for some telephone preference thing. He asked if we were still getting pesky calls. I told him straight up he was clearly no one from the real telephone preference service and ended the call on him.

Some bloke rang claiming to be from the telephone preference service about nuisance calls. He kept trying to get my card info, saying it was for registering biometric ID or something. Then he asked for the 6-digit number on the card - that’s the sort code, surely! The line was really scratchy too. I told him I wasn’t daft and just ended the call.

Got a call from this number claiming they could set up call blocking for us. We told them we weren’t signed up for anything like that, but the bloke insisted we’d already paid through direct debit and mentioned our card was about to expire. Then he asked for the sort code on the card. My partner quickly said he wanted to talk it over with me first and asked what number to ring back on. They gave this 087107 00040.
