Got a call at my job today and the person already had my name and where I live. When he asked me to confirm my card details I got suspicious and asked some questions, then he just ended the call!

Got a call from this number earlier, guy had an Asian accent and you could hear a bunch of people chatting in the background like some call centre. He claimed he was from a firm that blocks spam calls (yeah right), but kept fumbling over their company name. I asked if I’d even requested a callback, then just hung up. Scammers through and through, if you ask me.

They called me saying they were from the Telephone Preference Service, but it was a total scam. Watch out for this kind of trick!

I got a call from a bloke who sounded like he was from the Indian subcontinent and said he was calling from TPS after I asked to block nuisance calls. He started asking me to verify stuff he clearly already had, like my address, who provides my landline, and even my bank details for direct debits. That’s when I got suspicious - no legit TPS request would ask for that kinda info. So I just hung up straight away.

Our home phone just got a call from this number today, but it hung up right away as soon as I picked up.

I received a rather peculiar phone call from this number earlier on. An Asian gentleman was on the line, and to be honest, I found it quite hard to comprehend what he was going on about. He knew my name and claimed he was with the Telephone Preference Service, stating that after today, I wouldn’t have to deal with any more pesky calls. I must say, it struck me as odd for TPS to be calling me directly. I swiftly told him I wasn’t keen and hung up.

I received a call today from a woman with an Asian accent. There was quite a bit of static and a noticeable lag after I answered. She mentioned my name and claimed to be representing my phone provider. The connection was dreadful, so I decided to hang up.

I picked up after a brief pause and got a guy with an Asian accent claiming to be from TPS. He already had my name and address and said he was trying to help me stop nuisance calls. I told him that was thoughtful, but it was pretty clear he was fibbing. So, I just ended the call.

Got a ring from them today for the first time, claimed to be from TPS and somehow had my name and address. Like others have said, she started off about nuisance calls but then suddenly tried to ask for my credit card info. I just told her to piss off and ended the call. A few mins later she called again, so I gave her the same response. Haven’t heard a peep from them after that.

Received a couple of calls today from the same number. They didn’t utter a word and just disconnected after a few moments. Curious, isn’t it?

Picked up the phone, only to be met with a bit of silence before they just disconnected! Shame, I was gearing up to chat nonsense in my best alien voice.

A woman with a Chinese accent claimed to be calling from TPS and inquired whether I was still getting unwanted calls. She proceeded to verify my name, address, and postcode. Then, she asked me to confirm that my phone bill was settled via direct debit and, rather oddly, provided me with my bank card’s expiry date, requesting confirmation of its accuracy. I firmly told her that I wouldn’t share any card details, to which she insisted she only needed the expiry date. I reiterated my stance on not revealing any banking information, after which she abruptly hung up.

They said it was to block annoying calls, but first wanted to know when my deal with Moneysaver ended. I told them April 2017. Then they asked for my visa info to "update" things, but I wasn’t having any of it. Later, I ignored another call from them. Then, in just six minutes, calls came through on a different number and even one from that fake boiler company. Honestly, I’m as fed up as Trump with the whole thing!

This is the second instance I've encountered this. An individual of Asian descent became quite agitated when I informed him that the Telephone Preference Service doesn’t contact people like that. Eventually, I had to hang up in the midst of his tirade. When I last reached out to the TPS, they confirmed that they never make calls in such a fashion.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with TPS asking if we’re getting nuisance calls. I told them straight up, “Yeah, you’re one of the culprits!” They asked to talk to my husband, but I told them to buzz off because it was clearly a con. The bloke kept calling back a few times, but I just hung up on him every time. Definitely a scammer, just a bit more pushy than usual!

Got a call from someone speaking with an Indian accent, and it immediately felt like a spam call. She said she worked for some “telephone preference management” scheme and asked if I was bothered by lots of unwanted calls. I said yes, and she went on about how she could stop all those nuisance calls permanently. She even knew my name and address and wanted me to verify some details. I said there’s no way I’m sharing personal info over the phone, then she just cut me off.

I received a call from someone who sounded Asian, inquiring about my preference for a telephone service. Before I knew it, he was asking for my address and credit card details, and intriguingly, he already had the last four digits! He mentioned something about my card being expired and insisted I "pop off" to fetch my card to share the rest of the number. I promptly told him to take a hike!

Received a rather dodgy call from this number earlier, inquiring whether I receive unsolicited calls. They then went on to request the last three digits of my card or my banking information. When I firmly stated I wouldn’t divulge any details, they became quite aggressive. They mentioned they’d ring me again to sort out my call preferences, completely ignoring my response. Quite the nuisance!

It seems someone is masquerading as if they're associated with the Telephone Preference Service. It's clearly a ruse aimed at snatching credit card or banking information. I attempted to report this dubious call to the Telephone Preference Service, but their website was rather unhelpful, stating that this falls outside their jurisdiction. Quite frustrating, really!

Got a call earlier from someone saying they were with TPS, they had my name and address down which made me suspicious straight away. I told the guy I reckoned it was a scam because that’s usually how it goes, them asking for money stuff soon after. Didn’t take long before he just cut me off.

A call came through on my mum’s landline earlier, with someone going on about how they could block nuisance calls. They were super pushy. I snatched the phone from her and just ended the call. My mum didn’t really get the accent, which was a bit dodgy, but she felt something wasn’t right. I reckon a lot of folks might fall for it though.

Got a call from a 00 number again within just a day. This time, the person said they were from the TPS trying to help block nuisance calls. When I wouldn’t give my address, they just disconnected. Seriously, how cheeky can these scammers be? I’ve seen other reports about this number asking for bank card info, but I never got far enough to find out. The caller had an Indian accent, but these scam calls always seem to sound the same, don’t they?
