She claimed to be calling from a directory service, keen to refresh our complimentary business listing. However, she got the name of our company completely incorrect and started firing off queries that seemed rather excessive for a simple directory enquiry. Questions like how long we’d been based at this address, whether we planned to relocate, and what the managing director's name was. I decided enough was enough, told her I wouldn’t be providing any further information, and promptly ended the call.

It's worth noting that, despite their name, they're not affiliated with BT’s 118118 directory service. The information they collect is likely to end up in the hands of cold-call telemarketers at best, or identity thieves and scammers at worst. Be cautious!
