He started rambling on about some complimentary listing and then inquired about an address in Ilford, wanting to verify it. I had to let him know he’d dialled the wrong number. Honestly, it was a bit of a challenge to grasp what he was saying!

A chap rang me claiming he was with the 118 group. He started firing off questions at me, but I wasn’t inclined to respond. When I insisted that he should answer my queries first, he had the audacity to chuckle and persist with his questioning. I eventually told him that he had his facts all wrong and ended the call.

It's a bit of a mystery what they were really after, but it was clear that my insistence on saying "you've got the wrong number" didn't quite register with the caller. They just kept harping on about whether this number belonged to another business. I've now blocked the number, so fingers crossed that's the end of it!
