I've received two calls this week from the same number, ringing me at exactly the same time, 08:25, on both occasions. It's odd, as the caller hung up straight away both times. I guess I must be their first target of the morning! The number is 01827790916.

Received a call today from someone looking to refresh their contact information. When I inquired if this data would be shared with other firms for cold calling, they confirmed it would. I made it clear that we weren’t keen on that and suggested they stick with the details they already possess, which, quite frankly, are all wrong to begin with!

This seems to be a dodgy operation. They’re clearly fishing for details they ought to already possess. It looks like they’ve managed to grab your phone number and maybe your name, but that's about it. If you find yourself on the receiving end of their calls, simply hang up and, if possible, restrict their number. Better safe than sorry!

I've no clue who it was since it was a missed call, but when I tried to return the call, all I got was some dreadful hold music. It's rather vexing, isn’t it? Quite irritating and honestly, borderline unlawful. I've signed up with the TPS/CPS, yet these lot seem to have ignored it completely. They really ought to face penalties for failing to verify their lists!

I happened to miss their call earlier, so I decided to ring them back. Turns out it was the annual check from Directory Enquiries, wanting to see if we needed to refresh our details. I simply declined to provide any information I wasn’t keen on sharing.

Received a call earlier on from a number claiming to be 118, asking me to verify details they already possessed. To be honest, I suspect it was a dodgy attempt at scamming me, especially since my website isn't particularly popular; it was alarming how much they appeared to know about me. Just as I was about to get more into it, someone knocked at my door, so I had to cut the conversation short.

I came across this so-called "free listing" from 118 the other day.
