Fraudulent call.

Receiving a call on a bank holiday? Seems rather dodgy to me. Definitely not a legitimate one!

It seems that the call was from Citizens Advice, likely concerning financial matters or outstanding debts.

I chose not to pick up since I didn't recognise the number, plus it's a bank holiday today. I’m really pleased I decided to do a bit of research on it.

I'm getting incessant calls and it's a bank holiday, for goodness' sake! Who on earth makes calls on a day like this? I’m seriously contemplating picking up just to leave it quiet for a bit. If only I could track them down!

I received a call from an Indian gentleman regarding some sort of debt matter. I made it clear that I don't engage with debt and promptly ended the conversation.

I had no clue who was ringing, so I decided to let it go to voicemail! Getting a call on a bank holiday while flying solo feels a bit off, doesn’t it? After seeing all the comments, I’m quite relieved I opted not to pick up!

For quite a few months now,

I receive incessant calls from this number every single day, even though I repeatedly inform them that I'm not the individual they're looking for and explicitly ask them to cease their incessant ringing. If I get another call, I swear I’ll head straight to their office and unleash my frustration on the first person I encounter until the authorities arrive. I've lodged complaints in the past, but it seems no action ever gets taken. Kudos to them for being part of such a truly ineffective service – it’s frankly laughable.

I've configured my mobile to direct all calls from unfamiliar numbers—those not saved in my contacts—straight to voicemail. If they don’t bother to leave a message, I simply block them. It's as easy as pie!

I missed the call, and in hindsight, it seems it was likely just another scam attempt.

They addressed me as ‘Mr Heal’ – little do they know, I’m a woman 😂. I decided to humour them. They claimed to be from Citizens Advice, ringing regarding some supposed debt I had. I feigned ignorance, acting all shocked as if I wasn’t aware of any outstanding debts (the only thing I owe is my mortgage). The chap mentioned it was related to catalogues, credit cards, and something else that slipped my mind. Once he realised I was taking the mickey, he tried to wrap up the call with a quick, ‘Thanks for your time,’ to which I retorted, ‘I don’t own any of that nonsense, you fraudster!’ and hung up. This is the second time I’ve received a similar call from a number based in Newbury; I reported the last one as well. My advice? Just report and block; it’s the best course of action.

I picked up the phone thinking it might be our office in Newbury ringing, given my job situation. To my surprise, there was all the typical racket you'd expect from such calls. A woman's voice jumped in, muttering a few phrases in Spanish, and before I knew it, she cut off the line. Quite puzzling!

It seems I've received a call claiming to be from Citizens Advice in Newbury, but I don’t reside anywhere near that location. I'm inclined to think it’s just a bunch of scammers up to their usual tricks. What a nuisance!

This place is allegedly a vaccination centre for Covid, but it’s clearly nothing more than a ruse.

It posed as a survey regarding Covid vaccinations, but when I declined to provide details about my life insurance provider and its renewal, they abruptly terminated the call. Quite evidently a sales tactic!
