There was this bloke from India who sounded proper rude on the phone. Funny thing is, I was sipping lemonade and kept burping, which seemed to set him off big time. Honestly, he got annoyed quickly 🙄. Maybe he should just stop ringing me then.

They kept saying not to worry, they weren’t selling anything, but right away I could tell it was dodgy. The person on the line had a sort of Asian accent, and I quickly ended the call. Got a call from an Asian guy talking about covid jabs. He said something about a letter with a barcode from my GP. Then he switched to insurance stuff. I cut the call straight away. Feels like a scam trying to get my bank info. I’ve blocked the number but I reckon they’ll ring from somewhere else next time. Passing on the info to the local neighbourhood watch so they can warn the elderly before the scammers start ringing folks in Newbury.

I’ve had two calls this week from people saying they were from some kind of 'Covid Support Team'. The very first person hung up as soon as I said I wasn’t convinced it was genuine, and the second one got really rude, using swear words when I told them I was aware it was a scam. One pretended to be with the Manchester CCG, and the other said they were from Public Health. What’s a bit creepy is that they had my full name, but they used a shortened version of my first name like mates do, so I’m not sure where they found that info.

Got a call from someone with an Indian accent asking if I’d had Covid and if I was vaccinated. I told them yes to both, then he asked what year I caught it. When I asked why he needed that, he said it was to update government records. I told him that info’s already with the NHS/government and ended the call.

After reading what others have shared, I’m starting to think these people might have somehow got hold of Covid test data. I reported testing positive not long ago, and then got loads of calls from numbers that people have already flagged. Every time someone picked up, they said the same stuff - something about the NHS, asking if I’d caught Covid, then going on about life insurance. Since then, I’ve just ignored any calls from unknown numbers and haven’t even gotten one voicemail. Honestly, I’d recommend doing that too.

The questions were almost the same, they had the wrong postcode and asked about my covid jab details - like if I kept the vaccination card near the front door? I got a missed call from a number that popped up as 0116 473 7821 on my phone, but when I checked my call history, the number looked a bit different. The person who rang sounded like they might have been from India and left a voicemail saying they were from the NHS, asking how I was doing. They didn’t say my name or anything personal before hanging up. Usually, I just let unknown calls go straight to answerphone if I’m not certain who it is.

Same story as loads of others - they start off saying they’re from Public Health England, then switch to saying NHS, then try to check who I am. I gave them some wrong info and they still went along with it. Looks like they’re just trying to find out if you’ve got health or life insurance. Best just to block them out.

A few months back, I received a rather dubious call claiming that I had supposedly been in a car accident and was eligible for an insurance payout. The person on the other end was quite persuasive, suggesting there was a rather generous compensation waiting for me. Honestly, I can’t shake the feeling that it was just a scam, and they were likely fishing for my bank information.

At first, the person ringing said it was some sort of Covid Vaccine survey and started asking about my experience with it. But pretty soon they switched over to talking about life insurance and stuff. I told them I was hanging up because it felt like a scam, and then I just ended the call. Watch out for these ones!

They keep ringing me, and whenever I pick up, there's just silence. Curious, I decided to phone them back, and a company on the other end told me I'd been involved in a road traffic accident before, which isn't true at all. It's clearly another scam. What's tricky is the number shows up with my own area's code, so it's hard to tell it's dodgy.
