Got a cold call about PPI compensation. I said I don’t take unsolicited calls, but the guy insisted it wasn’t cold calling. I asked if I’d requested the call and he didn’t say yes. Ended the call and blocked the number.

Did I ever take out PPI? Nope. How do you claim it’s often added without me knowing? Well, I just clocked 38 years working for a major high street bank and only ever borrowed from them! So where on earth did you get my number from? It’s not even public?! (Spoken by my husband who works for Vodafone). No reply, just got cut off. Absolute timewasting nonsense. I told them to stop phoning me as I’m signed up with the TPS and they shouldn’t be making unsolicited calls. The person on the other end said it wasn’t a cold call and that they got my number from a survey I supposedly took part in - which isn’t true, coz whenever they say "survey" I just hang up. I asked them to take my number off their list.

Just saw on the news that a company got slapped with a £400k fine for making pestering calls. How do they keep getting away with it? You block one number and then they ring from a different one. I’ve had to disconnect my landline 'cause of it, and they still bug me every few days on my mobile.

Got a random call that I didn’t ask for. At first, the voice was all messed up, but after hearing it a few times, I could just make out something like "We site any claim". It was a lady named Helen who said everything was being recorded. She seemed to be trying to find folks who might have been wrongly sold PPI, but she wouldn’t admit that outright. She already knew my name, phone number and address, but then started asking stuff like if I was married and how long I've lived here. I refused to share any more and hung up.
