They asked me to confirm my Debit Card expiry date, which immediately seemed off. The caller somehow knew my address and postcode too. Then they requested the serial number linked to my name. It soon became clear this was a trick to reel out my account details like sort code and number. I politely told them to buzz off. This is definitely a scam, and I worry older folks might fall for it. Just be careful out there.

I’ve explained I’m already on the Telephone Preference Service (and honestly, wish there was a way to block these calls), yet they still haven’t stopped - already five calls from them today alone. I just don’t bother answering now, but it’s really annoying and distracting.

I just got a call from someone called ‘Alan’ claiming to be from telephone preference. The background was super loud, sounded like he was calling from some crowded offshore call centre. He told me that my telephone preference options had been set up. I said ‘thanks, that’s good’, and he wished me a nice day then ended the call. Kinda suspicious but honestly no complaints or anything weird happened.

Got a call from a guy who claimed to be from the Telephone Preference Service, sounded Asian. I told him I doubted that and just ended the call. The number showed as International on my phone, and he’s ringing me back three times today already.

I told him it was only him, then just hung up. Since then, I’ve had loads of calls from the same number but never picked up - only answered that one cause I didn’t have my specs on. Anyway, I've blocked the number now.

Got a call from a guy with a foreign accent claiming to be from TPS when I pressed him on who he was. The number looked like a genuine UK dialling code, but I wasn’t convinced at all and ended up just hanging up. I’ve since added that number to my block list using BTS caller protect. Gotta say, that caller protect service works really well and I’d definitely suggest giving it a try.
