I got a call from 01273655234 and they actually knew my name, which was a bit creepy. They were trying to sell me an extension on some kind of appliance warranty. When I asked what exactly it was for, they said my washing machine and freezer. I told them my washing machine's been around for like 20 years and my freezer was just bought, so it made no sense. They just dropped the call without saying anything else. Pretty clear to me it was a scam.

Got a call about some washing machine insurance and they already had my name and where I live. When I asked which washer they were talking about, they just said only their engineer has that info. I told them I wasn’t interested in the cover and they hung up on me. Feels like a dodgy deal to me, even though it’s been almost a year since I got the machine. For a split second, I thought about it, but I reckon that’s exactly what they're banking on.

Someone said they were calling from Domestic & General. They asked for payment right away to give me a discount but wouldn't send any paperwork for me to check. Said everything had to be sorted on the call and wanted my bank details. They hadn’t a clue about which appliances were meant to be covered. Got quite annoyed when I wouldn’t go along with it.

11/05/20 at about 1:15pm got a call from an asian gentleman working in what sounded like a chaotic call centre with loads of noise all around him - it was a recording mind. He kept going on about white goods insurance, saying I pay £25 monthly direct debit and it’s included with my home insurance. Totally a dodgy scam. Best not to even chat with them. To me, this feels quite risky, probably fishing for your bank details.
