01273655229 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 01273655229 👆 is reported as a persistent nuisance often linked to scam calls claiming to be from appliance warranty or insurance companies, frequently Domestic & General or similar. Callers sometimes identify themselves with common names but hang up if challenged or questioned about specifics. The calls are mostly silent or use poor sales tactics, targeting household appliances warranties and seeking personal or bank details. Many report the number disconnecting upon answer or leaving no voicemail. Scammers often exhibit a foreign accent, trying to pressure or confuse recipients into renewing non-existent policies. Picked up the phone but as soon as I did, the line went dead straight away. Silent call, nothing said.

Had a bloke on the phone named Adam, telling me he was ringing about my kitchen appliances because their insurance had run out. Didn't hang about, just ended the call. Proper scam, no doubt.

Got a call at 8.55 in the evening! The bloke said he was from Domestic & General but there is no way that’s true, the usual rubbish. This one said his name was Louis! Just the same old scam stuff. These lot are proper scumbags, honestly, should be wiped out! Another number straight on the block list - - - - - -

Since Monday ive been getting this call once a day from a female with an English accent about some appliance insurance. I reckon it’s a scam aimed at older people like me, i'm 78. They always call kinda early when i might be half asleep, but thankfully my wife, who’s 46, is around to keep me sharp and not fall for it.

I picked up and all I got was silence, then the answering machine kicked in. Really annoying how it just hangs up like that!

Watch out, this is definitely a scam online!

Received a call about some insurance renewal under my name, sounded like those dodgy scams. They asked if I wanted to cancel or renew, made me think maybe Legal and General had a data leak. I’ve already reported the number to BT and Action Fraud. If you catch a scammer on the line, just keep them chatting about anything random. Then tell them you’re messing with them and wasting their time. Might get you off their call list - probably not, but it’s worth trying, innit? ;)

Got a call from someone claiming to be Domestic and General, saying some of my appliances were about to go out of warranty and needed renewing. I asked them which appliance they meant, and they just dropped the call! Definitely a scam, not the real Domestic and General. If you get a call like this, ask for the appliance details and the cover reference number so you can verify it yourself. If it’s genuine D & G, they’ll have all your info. Most likely, they’ll hang up if they can’t answer. Watch out for this sort of thing!

Someone rang saying they were checking on warranties for my old fridge freezer, cooker, and washing machine, saying they were up for renewal. She couldn’t even say the address right she was talking about! I told her we’ve not lived there for 12 years. She then asked for my new address to send the details through. I just told her to be serious and put the phone down. She kept babbling away after that!

Got a call about my washing machine warranty being up, sounded fishy to me. Might be one of those scams or maybe just someone trying to phish info. Wouldn’t trust it too much.

We got a call from this number the other day, 30.10.20, I think it was. When I picked up, no one said anything, just silence. About a week before that, a woman called about our washing machine warranty running out. She told us it had expired, then just ended the call. Seems a bit strange, not sure what it was about.

They never caught my name right and I had to tell them they dialled the wrong number.

Today, I received a phone call from a woman of Asian descent who was trying to sell me an extended warranty for my home appliances. It's important to note that this wasn't a legitimate offer from Domestic and General; it felt more like a dodgy scam to me.

Got a call from a woman with an accent who claimed my washing machine’s warranty had expired. Her sales spiel was rubbish, and next thing you know, she was trying to get my bank info. It’s worrying how these scammers keep going, especially since older folks can be so trusting. When will they finally be put an end to?

Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent saying my appliance warranty was up and she needed my bank info to sort it out. Thankfully, I had my little soundboard handy and just hit the button for a loud burp right as she was talking. Probably threw her off!

The call cut out just as it went to voicemail, but it definitely seemed dodgy. If the person is truly based in Brighton, they ought to be stopped, but it might just be someone from another place faking a Brighton number.

Got a call about some sort of domestic appliance insurance. I asked if it was about a washing machine, cos we don’t own one, so I had no clue what she was on about! She just said sorry and hung up. Classic scam attempt, nothing more.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from Domestic & General, saying my 3 appliances' warranty expired after 24 months and it would cost £350 to renew. I've never had anything to do with them before. Total scam! Absolutely filthy scammers!

I picked up the phone but no one said a word! Maybe they didn’t wait long enough for me to answer? After seeing these comments, I’m relieved. I’m really fed up with these dodgy callers. Luckily, I can spot a scam from a mile off - poor older folks who fall for it though, that’s just awful.
