I got a call from some bloke claiming he was with Household Appliances insurance, saying I’d signed up for a warranty back in 2017. He went through what was included and what had to be renewed, but I kept insisting I never had any policy with them. After a bit, he just got annoyed, said ‘Alright then,’ and hung up on me. They actually had my full name and address too, which was a bit unsettling.

I got a call from this friendly bloke claiming that the warranty on my washing machine was about to expire. Thing is, I’ve never actually paid for any extra cover on my appliances, just the usual one year from the manufacturer. Plus, my washer is well over a decade old- about 14 years or so. Felt off to me, seemed like a dodgy sales pitch or some kind of scam trying to reel me in!
