I got a call on my home phone from a number I don’t know, but they didn’t leave a voicemail or anything, so it must not have been urgent. I’m guessing it was either some annoying sales pitch or just another scam trying its luck. I can’t seem to block the number on my landline, but at least I managed to block it on my mobile now.

Some bloke called about my washing machine insurance, said it ran out a month ago. He got my number spot on but got the address wrong. I told him I don’t even own that machine anymore. Then he tried to sell me insurance for my new one, saying with coronavirus going on, engineers were taking ages to fix stuff and people were stuck waiting for weeks. I wasn’t having any of it and just ended the call.

Don’t pick up, it’s a scammer! Best to just hang up straight away.

Got a call from someone claiming they were from Sky re insurance - sounded dodgy to me. Definitely felt like a scam, so be careful if you get a similar phone call!

Some bloke called saying my insurance for electrical stuff had run out. I’ve never come across the company he claimed to be from, and I don’t even have that insurance. I asked if he could send me something in writing, but he said he couldn’t do that unless I renewed first. Told him he was really convincing, then just ended the call.

Got calls from someone claiming to be from HMRC trying to get my bank info, but their voice was a woman speaking from a loud call centre. First they called about insurance, then about home appliances, and then rang again 15 minutes later but didn’t leave any message. Another call came 10 minutes after that. Total time wasters and definitely a scam.

Got a call from 01273 655235 claiming they were Home Care. They really pushed us hard to buy a warranty, which we definitely weren’t interested in. The number seemed dodgy to me, so I had a feeling it might be a scam.

Just got a call from 01273655235 about 5 mins ago. They claimed to be from HomeServe and told me the warranty on my white goods had expired. Thing is, the appliances I mentioned are definitely older than a year, so not sure if they’re legit.

Some bloke calling himself from domestic appliances rang me up, and he even knew my name. I told him straight away that I’d reported him to the ICO just last week. After that, I blocked the number. Oddly, they rang again but from a different number this time. Looks like they’re really not giving up.

Got a call from someone claiming to be with Sky, saying our equipment cover was about to run out and needed to be renewed. Bit odd really, cos we don't even have Sky. The moment I mentioned that, they rushed to end the call, apologising and saying they’d pass it on to their supervisor. Sure, right. Blocked the number and sent details to the fraud folks. Watch out for this one.

Every day I’m bombarded with calls from this number and similar ones, it’s driving me mad. I’ve started just letting all of them go straight to voicemail. I even decided to cut off my landline altogether! It’s obvious that phone providers aren’t doing anything to block these scam callers. Isn’t there some way to stop companies from handing over their clients’ numbers to these scammers? Feels like no one’s taking responsibility.

I looked up the number online and turns out it’s one of those annoying harassment calls. Luckily, they didn’t get past my call blocker, or else they definitely would’ve been blocked straight away.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from 'Home Care', same lad who buzzed me last week. Said my washing machine cover was up and I needed insurance. Told him straight up I knew it was a scam and I wasn’t interested. He kept going on, so I just let him babble for a bit until he gave up. If you’re answering these annoying calls, you’re just making it easier for scammers or you might be vulnerable. Best thing is to ask for something in writing and then just hang up.

Beware of calls about a washing machine warranty for home service. I got one recently and it turned out to be a complete scam. They tried to convince me my machine needed immediate repairs under some fake warranty deal. Don’t fall for it! It’s just a trick to get your money.

I’ve lost count of the amount of times I've received calls from this number, along with others, all asking for a Mr Acton or some variation of that name. It’s definitely more than fifty times by now! I can’t wrap my head around what they’re hoping to accomplish, but it’s clear to me that it smacks of a scam or some sort of data gathering exercise. It's perplexing how such activities are permitted and seem to go unchecked! I often wonder what kind of disappointment their parents might feel knowing how they've chosen to spend their days!

Absolutely a dodgy caller if ever there was one! We’ve signed up with the Telephone Preference Service, which means we shouldn’t be getting any sales pitches, and usually, we don’t. Legitimate businesses wouldn't reach out in this manner. This appears to be a woman from abroad, trying to peddle insurance for household goods. Very fishy if you ask me. Best to steer clear of this one!

I received a call today from a chap who said he was representing Domestic and General. He was offering me an attractive deal to extend the warranty on my washing machine. Just a heads-up for everyone - I reckon this is a dodgy scam. Stay vigilant!

Got a call about a warranty on my white appliances - total scam. Sadly, these tricks fool a lot of people. We really ought to log these scams with the police. Just search ‘action fraud’ online, go to the police.uk website, hit the report button, choose phishing, then scroll down past the fake email stuff to file your report on this scam. You don’t need to sign up or anything. Apparently, over a million scam calls, texts, and emails flood in every week. If everyone reported this rubbish, it’d be a big help. Take care out there, everyone!

I got a call from someone offering insurance for my washing machine, fridge, and freezer. The person only spoke with a heavy foreign accent and just kept reading from a script. When I tried to ask a couple of questions, she just repeated the same lines again and again. Then, when I asked one more question, she suddenly ended the call. It was pretty clear she wasn’t willing to have a proper chat.
