Then some bloke asked if I was self-employed, working or on benefits. I told him benefits and he just hung up. Pretty sure it was someone pretending to be HMRC.

I've been receiving a barrage of calls from this number for the last couple of days. Even after making it abundantly clear that I'm aware they're up to no good, they continue to pester me. Quite infuriating, if you ask me!

I'm absolutely sick and tired of receiving those blasted cold calls and dodgy phone scams at the crack of dawn, right around 8 AM. Just the other day, I got a call from someone claiming to be “from Amazon,” saying my membership was on the verge of expiring. It's a right nuisance, especially since I already sent a letter to their US headquarters to cancel it!

When I looked it up online, it appears to be a scam. If you press one, it connects you to a premium rate line, either feeding you dubious info or just keeping you on hold, racking up a charge of £3.### a minute. Do yourself a favour-block the number and just ignore it. Whatever you do, don't press one!

I received a phone call from this number a few weeks back, and it didn’t sound like it was local; the voice seemed to be from India. The caller was prattling on about enhancements to the internet, and I must have politely declined three times, but she just kept on yapping. In the end, I mentioned that I was looking after an elderly lady, quite frail at that, and it really wasn’t appropriate for someone to be ringing at the crack of dawn. I received a call purporting to be from TalkTalk, which struck me as odd since we terminated our account with them quite a while back. The typical scam spiel about our broadband being cut off unless we hit '1' came up. This is clearly a ruse to get you to enter some code, which they can then use to swipe your information-so absolutely do NOT fall for it! If these chaps are hoping to be more convincing, they ought to adopt a more neutral accent. However, perhaps their current approach is a sneaky tactic that catches unsuspecting folks off guard!

Received a call from the number 01247 ###. A gentleman, presumably of Indian descent, claimed to be representing BT and mentioned that we were experiencing bothersome phone calls. Quite right! He seemed somewhat believable... However, he continued to ramble on, talking right over the top of anything I tried to say. At one point, he even mentioned the last four digits of my VISA card, seemingly eager for further details to resolve this so-called issue with nuisance calls. I firmly informed him that I was not interested in his services and abruptly ended the call.
