I got a call from 01247, a number from Bradford, and there was this recorded message sayin if I din pay what I owed, I’d be arrested right away. It told me to press one, so I did. Then some bloke asked if I was self-employed, working or on benefits. I told him benefits and he just hung up. Pretty sure it was someone pretending to be HMRC.

I keep getting these annoying scam calls from about 8 in the morning, it's getting ridiculous. One was supposedly from "Amazon" warning me my membership was about to run out. I ended up sending a proper cancellation letter to their US address to make sure it's sorted.

Got calls from this number about 5 times over a couple days, some automated voice warning my internet would be cut off in a few hours. It said if I wanted to talk to someone, press one. After checking online, I found it’s a known scam - pressing one just takes you to expensive calls, either to get your info or keep you waiting and charging you around £3 a minute. Best thing to do is block it and just ignore the call, definitely don’t press one!

Got a call from 01247 765 923 claiming my Amazon Prime was compromised. Was a bit wary so rang Amazon myself, they said they only reach out by email, though warned to watch for dodgy emails too. Definitely a scam. Oddly, she said she didn’t want any personal info, so maybe she was trying to nab my IP or something like that.

A couple of weeks back I got a call from these people and the accent sounded Indian. The woman kept jabbering about some internet upgrades or whatever, and even after I declined three times, she just wouldn’t quit. I eventually told her this isn’t my residence - it’s actually where I care for a frail elderly lady in her ###s - and that we don’t appreciate calls at 8 in the morning, so they should stop. But now they seem to call twice a week, and if I pick up, they just hang straight away!

A couple weeks back I got a call that definitely sounded like it was coming from India. The woman kept jabbering about some internet upgrade, and I said no thanks about three times but she just wouldn't stop. I then told her this isn't my house, it's actually an elderly lady's place whom I care for, and she doesn’t need disturbances at 8 in the morning, so please leave us alone. Someone called claiming to be from TalkTalk, which was odd considering we ended our TalkTalk service a while back. They kept going on about how "your broadband will be cut off" if you don’t press '1' - classic trick to get you to punch in a code and steal your info, so don’t fall for it! Honestly, if these scammers want to pull it off, maybe they should sound more neutral English, but I suppose the panic they cause is part of their game anyway!

Got a call from someone called "John" claiming to be from BT about my computer running slow. The line was awful - definitely from somewhere far away, probably India - but we had a bit of a laugh for about five minutes. He didn't really listen to what I said, kept going over whatever I said. Then he mentioned the last 4 numbers on my VISA card, like he had some info already. I guess he was trying to get more details to stop the calls. I told him I wasn’t interested and ended the call straight away.
