All had the same area code but different last digits. One time I answered it was an automated message, another time no one even picked up, and the last call was silent. All of this happened within just a few hours today. I can’t seem to grab the phone fast enough before it goes to voicemail, and they never leave any clue on what it was about!!!

Claimed to be from Amazon - real number 01266 607194. Sounds like a dodgy scam to me. They said my account had an item ordered from Amazon and if I hadn’t bought it, I should press 1 for a refund. Amazon must be mad busy if they have to ring every single customer about all their orders!

Got 6 missed calls - 4 yesterday and 2 today. All sounded the same, different phone numbers though. Definitely a call centre, but not Amazon since they only contact me via email! Got a call from 01266 007246 claiming to be Amazon. They said someone had used a £49 gift card and asked if I wanted to approve it. I told them I just bought a gift card for a mate. They seemed a bit puzzled. Then they mentioned an address, and I said that was where my cousin stays. They sounded a bit shocked. Still, they kept pushing and wouldn’t back down. Proper annoying.

01266208254 called my landline claiming to be from Amazon about a £49.99 payment taken from my account, wanted to confirm. I told them I didn’t authorise it and ended the call. I reckon older folk who might be lonely or easily confused could get worried. The lady was polite, friendly and spoke really clear English, asking how I was. These kinds of numbers should be blocked or shut down. 01266 isn’t even a proper local number.

This number is definately a SCAM - my caller ID first showed INTERNATIONAL, then this supposed "local" number which is clearly bogus since the STD code 01266 hasn't been assigned anywhere yet. Got a call today from 01266 532463, just one of a bunch lately trying to freak me out into pressing 1 to talk about some "issue" - this time it was about my Amazon Prime account. Totally fake. Other calls had recorded messages saying money was taken from my bank and I had to call back ASAP. Nope, absolutely not true!

Just got a ring today from 01266 919974, can't believe they don’t hide their number. They said they were from Amazon Prime, but I don’t even have a yearly plan with them. Tried telling me my subscription was auto-renewing or something. The woman said her name was Jeniffer Wilson but when I asked for a contact number to ring back, she said no incoming calls allowed. Absolutely dodgy. Don’t get caught out by these lot, total scam!

Got a call from 01266 250217 earlier today, they were saying my Amazon Prime Time was ending and I had to renew it. Thing is, I don’t even have Prime Time delivery. I asked them who the account belonged to, but the answer was all mumbo jumbo and definitely not my name. So I just ended the call. Watch out folks. West Sussex here.

Got a call from 01266 746791 at 10.59am on Saturday, but they hung up as soon as the answering machine kicked in, leaving no voicemail. Then, not even an hour later, the phone rang again but this time the caller ID showed as UNAVAILABLE. Same thing happened - they hung up once the answering machine started. Pretty weird.

I’ve had calls from 012661106224 and also a 0122 prefix number, but I haven’t picked up - just let it ring through to voicemail. They’ve been ringing on and off since 8am today, 06.06.2020, and even called last night. This has been going on for a few days now. I’m registered with the TPS and my number is ex-directory, plus I never share it, yet it seems to make no difference. I’m really annoyed, especially since I live with elderly parents and worry something serious might be up. Thank goodness I can see the number before deciding whether to answer.

The number showed up as Barnsley on my phone so I picked up, but nobody said anything. I could hear what sounded like a kid in the background, maybe they were calling from home, then they just hung up. I looked up Marks & Spencer and John Lewis in connection with people sharing my info online, so I reckon one of them must have passed my details to scammers! I got a phone call from 01226788204 around 12:11 on Sunday 25th August 2019. It was a recorded female voice with a posh accent saying my internet was in danger and I'd lose it within 24 hours unless I pressed '1' to talk to a tech expert. Then the call just cut off. This number shows an area code that’s not genuine, not assigned to anyone atm. It used to be the code for Ballymena/Kells in Northern Ireland but hasn’t been active for ages now.

Got a call from 01226 218493 at about 11.48am on Sat 27th July 2019. A woman with an Asian accent said her name was Sandra - sounded like she was at a call centre with background noise. She claimed to be from Open Reach and mentioned our internet was showing errors on their side, asking if our connection was slow or acting up. I said no, it’s been fine. Then the line just went dead. If the chat had gone on, there’s no way I would’ve shared any personal info or our IP address!

01266271426. Had a really awful encounter. My son handed me the landline and I ended up talking to a William who spoke with an Indian Asian accent. He claimed to be from BT outreach and said there were issues with our internet. I kept telling him we don’t have BT, but he just lost it and started shouting "Listen MF" at me, then went on a rant about what he supposedly did to my mum, all the while calling me MF and more insults. I was shocked but managed to fire a few swear words back before I finally ended the call.

Got a call from someone saying they were with TalkTalk. I just said cheers and ended the call. Funny how others mention they pretend to be from BT instead! I've put the number on my block list now.

Got a call from 012660401769, they said they were with BT and there was a fault on my internet connection. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Received a call from someone claiming to be BT hub. They said there was a problem with my router box and they needed my bank details to refund some line rental. Felt like a total scam to me, so I didn’t give anything away. Be careful, folks!

Got a call from 01266768716 but they hung up as soon as we picked up, seems like just another annoying nuisance call.

Got a call from BT on 01266 867504 saying my internet was disconnected, but it turned out to be just a spam call. Total automated nonsense, nothing legit.
