To contact me, please dial 01238 841746. Recently, I received an automated message in an American accent claiming to be from Amazon. It informed me that to continue my Amazon Prime membership, I would be charged $39.99. The recording gave an option to press 1 if I wanted to speak with someone from Amazon. To report issues with my BT internet, please call 01238 446791. I have been receiving multiple calls of this nature from various numbers in the past two weeks. Interestingly, although this is not a BT related concern, a man had the audacity to greet me with 'Good afternoon' at 9am in the morning and promptly ended the call. At noon today, I received a automated message from a caller pretending to be BT. I have made several calls to my elderly relative's landline number. Every time, an Asian man claiming to be from BT answered and mentioned a problem with the internet. I informed him about the lack of internet at my relative's house and also pointed out that BT does not make customer calls like these. I asked him to stop phoning and then blocked the number using BT 1572. Unfortunately, I expect he will try calling again using a different 01238 number. A friend of mine recently fell victim to a scam of this kind, so I quickly recognized their tactics.
