Today, I received another call from 01265 116535, claiming that my Amazon account had been compromised.
The poor soul on the other end, possibly from India or Pakistan, struggled with her English as she attempted to press on with the conversation, likely trying to trick me in some fashion. My heart went out to her; she seems to be caught in a dire situation, hustling for a wage at the behest of more cunning and unscrupulous individuals from her country.
I can’t help but ponder if she might eventually find herself resorting to even more dubious enterprises just to make ends meet for these shady operators…
