About five minutes back I got a call from a number that showed up as possibly fraudulent, so I didn’t hesitate to block it. Looking up reviews on Who Called Me, it turns out this outfit is known for scamming, pretending to be from O2, Carphone Warehouse, EE and the like. Apparently, the lady on the line speaks with a thick Indian accent and sounds super robotic, reading off some script. Word is she could be one of those scammers operating out of Kolkata, India - a hotspot for these calls. If you get a ring from this number, don’t bother - just block it straight away.

BEWARE OF SCAMMERS!!! Got a call from someone pretending to be O2. They wanted me to give them a security code that pops up on my phone, saying it was for my account. When I questioned if they were sure they had the right person, they suddenly got dodgy and started pushing a 'special offer' or some sort of free upgrade. O2 clearly says to NEVER share that code with anyone, even if they say they’re from O2, so I didn’t fall for it. Stay safe out there!
