I've recently encountered some Indian fraudsters posing as representatives from Carphone Warehouse. They've been touting an unbelievable 40% reduction on my mobile bill, along with the enticing offer of a complimentary iPhone, provided I hand over £50. It's all rather dubious, isn't it?

Somebody said they were calling from Carphone warehouse. Tried to sell me an iPhone 13 pro and kept lowering the price three times. Had a bit of fun stringing them along. I asked where exactly they were and they gave me the Carphone warehouse address in London. Then I asked how they were calling from Consett or Burnhopefield in Co. Durham, and they just hung up.

Blimey, they just won't stop. Ringing up every pub I work at, asking for the owner and pretending to be my energy supplier. Got well fed up and snapped at one of em, then dropped the call. Next thing, he rings back saying he’s 'my dad'. Proper scam, all done from some dodgy call centre in India.

Got a call from a guy named Leon, sounded Asian, said he was with the Telephone Preference Service management. I told him I’ve been on the TPS list for 6 years and he wasn’t the real deal. This happened twice this week already.

I got a call from a lady with a foreign accent claiming to be from the telephone preference management service. She asked if i was bothered by unwanted calls, and I said yes. Then she wanted to check if I paid my phone bill via direct debit, but when I told her that was private and not her business, she just hung up. Managed to keep her talking for about a minute, so at least she wasn’t scamming anyone else during that time!

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming my internet was about to cut off and that I needed to update my direct debit info. When I flat out said I wasn’t giving him anything ‘cause it smelled like a scam, he then asked if I wanted him to do something else, started with an 'f' and rhymed with 'book'. You can imagine the language I gave him back - proper disgusting behaviour. Absolute creep.

This number has called me quite a lot the last few days. I’ve got Call Guardian set up on my BT line, which only lets calls through if the caller says their name. Of course, these lot never did, so I didn’t get any calls from them. Cheers to everyone here for the heads up - I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number for good now.

They've called me 5 times already, demanding the bill holder cough up £149 for some marketing call blocking thing, sounding pretty pushy too. They say they're from 'telephone preference management' - so like the TPS, but not really - and claim the free service I supposedly had has ended and now I have to pay. They keep ringing but I just hang up as soon as I pick up now.
