Typical scammers preying on folks having money problems. Feels like a fresh gang has gotten hold of these numbers. This particular one, for instance, was flagged as a scam a year back here. It really shouldn't still be active - phone companies ought to block these calls so we don’t get hassled by these awful predators. If they blocked them properly, it’d stop these lousy scammers passing the numbers around to others just as nasty, all trying to con genuine people going through rough patches. Report, block, block, report - that’s the only way!

I got a phone call from someone claiming to be from EE, offering me an upgrade to a new iPhone for about £40 a month. The connection was really bad, cutting in and out like a dodgy mobile signal. I played along and asked how much I'm paying at the moment. She replied in really broken English that it was £80 per month, which is definitely not right. Then the line went rubbish again and I couldn’t hear a thing, so I told her to ring me back later. Still haven’t had a call from her since!

Yesterday, I received a call from this number, and the chap on the other end introduced himself as an employee of CarPhone Warehouse. He was touting a fantastic deal on the new iPhone 13 Pro at a ridiculously low price! It's quite clear to me that this is a scam; there's no way this is legitimate, nor is there any connection between this number and CarPhone!

Got a call on my mobile from 0120770003, a woman claiming to be from Car Phone Warehouse. She sounded courteous but you could tell she was in one of those call centres with loads of other people chatting away in the background. I told her I wasn’t interested in upgrading and she just hung up. Weirdly enough, the call also showed up as a missed FaceTime call on my Apple devices, which didn't make much sense considering it was a landline number. I've blocked the number now.
