Hello there! I run the genuine Driveway Centre located in Blandford. Recently, I had to rebrand as the Dorset Driveway Centre due to ongoing issues with complaints concerning a different outfit, even though I've been in business for over 25 years without any problems. It turns out there's a foreign telemarketing firm operating from Guildford using my name. Their number can be found on my Google listing if you'd like to have a word with them! Give them a nudge! 👍

It seems they've gone so far as to create a bogus website pretending to be the driveway centre, supposedly hailing from Ipswich. You'll find it quite telling that there are absolutely no contact numbers listed anywhere on the site. These individuals are nothing short of a menace, and somehow they seem to have tapped into ex-directory numbers. The entire operation appears to be automated, and both the police and trading standards are already in the loop about it.

Someone rang claiming to be John from a driveway company, talking about installing a drive. However, I live in a flat without any drive! Definitely seems dodgy-take care, folks!

Definitely a dodgy scam, they don't operate around here or anywhere else as far as I know. Honestly, the government and phone regulators should step in and put an end to these nuisance calls.

What I do is just keep the bloke chatting and chatting until he gets bored and stops ringing for a good long while. I've given up on all the other tricks because he always picks up the phone again. The best thing you can take off him is his own time - that's the one thing he really values!

Engage him in conversation for as long as you can; eventually, he’ll come to the realisation that he’s just squandering his time and will likely leave you alone for several months. I've experimented with every other tactic, but he keeps ringing back. The trick is to rob him of what he values most...his precious time!

Received a call purportedly from a "local energy consultant", inquiring if I knew that certain loft insulations have been deemed either ineffective or downright hazardous. I can only assume he was gearing up to pitch some spray foam solution. I told him he was talking utter nonsense and promptly disconnected the call!

They must be quite frustrated with misrepresentation like this. I've decided to block the number, as it’s clearly a fraudulent attempt.
